STDs can be spread whether a condom is used or not, especially STDs that can spread by DIRECT skin to skin contact like genital herpes and HPV.
Condoms are NEVER 100% effective. The ONLY thing that is 100% effective in preventing the spread of STDs is abstinence. Condoms definitely HELP prevent the spread of STDs, but they are NOT a guarantee.

NO they are not even close to a guarentee. First of all they DO NOT protect against H.P.V. and HPV is at epidemic preportions and is the cause of almost 90% of cervical cancers and women are getting cervical cancers younger and younger like in thier 20's and 30's. Condoms do not protect against this. It scares me that so many people think they do ... Geez look at these posts, people are telling you they protect you but they do not against HPV. Not to mention all the other ones you have to worry about if you do anything oral, or if he does. OH and hereps can be transmitted skin to skin as well, so scrotum area and so forth could potentially infect you.

You can get warts just by laying naked with some one, so condoms do not guarantee that you won't contract an STD.

condoms have holes. no im not being stupid, i dont mean big enough for sperm. but big enough for viruses to get through. condoms do provide a small ammount of protection from STDs, but there is still a large chance that they can get through.
you should tell him to get tested. if he has anything you shuld also get tested.

Nothing is 100%. Besides there are some STD's (like crabs) that you can get regardless.

Yes, you are still at risk.
For one, you never know if your partner is giving you all the facts.
I suggest you get tested along with your casual partner to be on the safe side.

UNPROTECTED? Yes.
Even with a condom, it's useless if it breaks.
