If this has been going on for so long, why have you not seen a doctor????

Anal bleeding is not normal and can have several causes. Hemmorhoids, a fissure, a rectal abcess...the list goes on.

See your doctor ASAP. You will likely need at the very least a sigmoidoscopy to look for a problem.

You need a colonoscopy. It's most likely polyps. When one breaks open they bleed a little and then stop until the next time they break. Most polyps are not cancerous. The doctor can remove it with the colonoscope. If left untreated they can become cancerous. I hope you have health insurance. It takes about an hour but the prep and recovery makes it a 3 or 4 hour outpatient procedure. It costs around $2000.

The white discharge is probably mucus which is a normal occurance in the GI tract and rectum. The blood is not normal. Usually this is the result of some trauma, burst vessel, which may simply be a hemmorrhoid that ruptured during anal intercorse.

Hemmoroids. It is caused by your diet. And if you haven't used the restroom, then your colon wants to release feces but it's sharp so it cuts the inside. That white stuff is natural lubricant made by your body that allows the sharp feces to exit.
You can fix this by changing your diet or drinking more water. Drinking lots of water allows safe passage of feces and flushes out toxins. You need to eat a diet rich in enzymes and fiber. Eat things like salads and apples. These help for fiber and aid digestion. Also, since your condition seems liek it needs more assistance, take acidophilis pills (available at health food stores) or digestion pills (same). Physical activity aids it too.
Try hemmoroid cream or if you feel more comfortable going to the doctor, go to urgent care. They'll treat you and diagnose you within about 4 hours (I know- urgent isn't it?), but at least you'll have your diagnosis.
I've had hemmoroids before, so I can tell what you're going through. But if it seems like it's not this condition aforementioned..then you need to go to the doctor.

You need to see your doctor so he can order some tests to find out what kind of discharges' coming out of your anus. This tests will eventually dictate which form of regimens are not resistant if ever there is an infection. I'm not trying to alarm you, but take into consideration the fact that any blood and discharges coming out from any part of our body warrants an investigation. Always remember that, "An ounce of prevention is greater than a pound of cure".

My husband has ulcerative colitis. He bleeds and has mucous in his rectum. It can get really bad. There is also stomach upset, acid reflux and a lot of sickness and pain in the rectum. This is very serious and you need to go to the doctor. It could be signs of a number of different things.

There is a medication that helps my husband. It starts with a c but I can't remember. Go see your doctor right away!
