I don't care what someone else eats... I'm not afraid of meat... I just don't eat it... I'd loan it to them, yes. I don't have a moral problem with it... I don't eat it and I only offer my opinion if it is asked for.
After all it's not crack... "come on dude gimme 20 dollars, I'm jonesin for a roast."

1. No, I wouldn't just voluntarialy purchase meat for a friend or relative with my own money. HOWEVER, if it was a case where they couldn't get out and about (they were sick or something) and needed help grocergy shopping then yes, I would help them.
2. As long as they paid me back I'd be fine.

1. No.
2. No.
You may need to know this in case you meet someone you like who is veggie - most veggies would be sick to the stomach if you sat eating meat at their table. This occurred earlier this year to me when I met a committed carnivore. Nothing against the person, just a strong aberration at anyone eating meat.

No and no. Everyone in my family knows how I feel about meat. I've never hidden the fact that I'm an eithical vegan.
It is the same with my non-vegan friends. No one dares to ask the "crazy vegan" to buy meat for them.

#1. I would not buy meat for anyone. I don't want to pick it up, look at it, carry it with me, or frankly even be near it!
#2. Same as above, the money isn't an issue, I am not comfortable with buying meat for anyone, regarless of their relation to me, or if they had the money or not. I would easily go out and buy someone $20 worth of non-meat food and if they were in need of it, not ask for the cash back ever. I don't mind buying food for people, but they cannot expect you to buy something you aren't comfortable with (would they ask for only light marbling...I'm not checking!).

If meat was part of their food and they needed groceries yes I would buy bacon, sausages, chicken etc. Its not realy up to me to impress my views on others. Its the same if you were a social worker who as vegetarian but was helping a family who ate meat. I would not feel comfortable with forcing hungry people to eat beans and cheese and vegies if the parents only knew how to cook meat. At the end of the day its about respect of other people and their choices.
This question made me think of a situation sometime ago. My friend is a vegetarian. Her husband died and the community rallied about to help with food. And you now what they gave her - meat casseroles, roast chicken, curried sausages, chicken soup etc. In fact all the food was meat based even though they knew she was a vegetarian why? Because they thought she needed the protein. I dont think that its ok to press your views on other people. When people come to eat at my place they are amazed at the diversity of vegetarian food but when I visit them I take my own food.
I wuold also like to say I dont like meat or handling it but if I have to cook it for my partner or my children I will but I would prefer someone else handling it. Yuck but having said that its about getting along and not being to inflexible. I am a vegetarian for health reasons and saving animals is a bonus. I love that bonus but I wont force my views on people. If you are asking me under normal circumstances - would I buy meat for a family member I probably would say no as I am not the best person for picking meat, I dont eat it and I dont like it and I dont understand the different cuts etc.

Nope. I would not buy meat in a grocery store for others. I cringe whenever I get anywhere near the meat counter at grocery stores. And I am not sure if I would buy a frozen dinner with meat products for them, whether or not they paid me back.
However, if I were out with someone at an omni restaurant, I'd pay for their non-veg dinner, as I don't have to touch the stuff.

Yes, if they were a guest in my home (my husband prepares his own meat meals when he wants them but this is infrequent) I would likely include a meat dish that I may have purchased and possibly prepared myself.

1. no i wouldn't. that would be supporting that industry.
2. no. i wouldn't be willing to buy it even if they gave me their own money to get it. i want nothing to do with the support of the meat industry.
i love my family, i'd do almost anything for them, but they can get their own meat.

Long before I became vegetarian I would refuse to buy cigarettes for friends, with their own money. I didn't want to contribute to them killing themselves.
For the same reasons I would not purchase meat for friends, it adds to the amount of death in this world, and I don't need to do that.
After reading some other answers, I need to edit this answer. For family I have purchased meat. My dad drove six hours to work on my house, he was there for four days working his butt off, when we went out for dinners (he refuses to eat my "hippie food") he would normally pay, but when he was finished I insisted (parents are so put off by this). And, I did pay for his meal of some kind of chicken. I couldn't give him grief, or let him pay anymore.

huh?
$20.. that's not much meat... prices are high around here.. jack up the price a tad.
