The last two answers (above) are the best. I've been urine tested while attending an alcohol rehab program within twenty four hours after drinking and passed... but I only had about four beers. The more you have, and the worse your liver is, the longer it stays in your system. (See, alcohol rehab programs do teach you some useful stuff)

Alcohol can be detected in your blood1hour to 24 hours with a breath tester ,with a lab blood test it can be 2-3 days depending on what or how much you drank and the body mass.etc
After Moderate to heavy drinking you can be over the limit the next day to operate a car

Some of these answers are a little off.
A fair assumption is that maximum possible BAC is around 0.45%, which is on the hairy edge of a fatal dose of alcohol poisoning for most people.
Likewise, most people would eliminate around 0.016% BAC per hour (in an extreme case, that might be a low as 0.010%/hour, but that would be unusual).
Doing the math gives 28-29 hours to go from as drunk as you can get without dying to having no detectable alcohol in the blood.

It depends on several factors, including how much you drink and how accustomed you are to drinking. Generally, every drink will take around 2 hours to metabolize, and during that time the alcohol can be detected in your blood. Alcoholics generally metabolize alcohol a bit faster and those who drink little a bit slower, but that's a decent rule of thumb.

It is dependent on the amount of alcohol consumed. The body burns alcohol at a certain rate per hour so if you fill up your tank you can probably keep going for a long time. If you only have a small amount it will be gone fairly fast.

12 to 24 hours depending on the amount consumed. To be safe assume 24 hours minimum.
