Basically, someone who doesn't eat anything 'animal'...no meat, but also nothing that comes from an animal..for example: eggs. Nothing cooked in animal fat...it's like an EXTREME veggitarian.

Vegan means that not only do you not eat meat, chicken, and fish but you also do not eat anything that comes from or has anything come from an animal. For example you wouldn't drink milk because that comes from a cow, not eat cheese because that uses milk, no eggs because they come from chickens.... and so on. As far as the clothes you would have to check the labels to see what the materials are and you have to be carefull because companies can say that that product was not tested on animals but still do animal testing. They test everything about the product on animals but don't test the final product so that they can legally say that it was not tested on animals. Don't get me wrong not all companies do this. There are many good websites that you can look at to research more about all these topics. Just do a search on Vegan, or Cruelty free companies. As much as I don't aggree with a lot of what PETA does they do have a good list of cruelty free companies , and they have links to many other animal related websites.

Cruelty free companies and also they eat nothing that derives from any type of animal insect or fish. That is why there are not many Vegans. Though Vegans and Vegetarians have very healthy body's and almost perfect skin.

A vegan consumes no animal products--no meat, dairy, eggs, gelatin, honey, etc. Vegans also avoid wearing silk, wool, leather, and fur. Vegans avoid cosmetics and personal care products with animal ingredients and strive to buy from companies that do NOT test on animals.
Basically, vegans try to avoid activities that result from the exploitation of animals. Many vegans avoid going to zoos, (animal) circuses, and marine parks.

A true Vegan consumes no animal products at all, that includes eating them and using them like a leather coat for example, and they also do not use anything tested on animals.
