Generally, people make mean comments out of ignorance. This relates not only to Vegans, but to many other distinct groups.
Specifically, I think most of us carnivores see Vegetarians and Vegans as food fusses. Most of us are trained as children to eat what is put before us, and being a food fuss of any kind is a negative thing.
These are only observations, of course, no science here.

I'm only mean to certain vegetarians/vegans, namely the ones who keep telling me that because I am a carnivore I am sooo unhealthy and sooo inhumane to animals. Respect my food choices and I will respect yours, the last thing humans need to be fighting about is what they eat.

A stereotype has been created by the small percentage of vegetarians/vegans who try to push their agenda on other people or snub their noses at people who choose to eat meat.
You are probably experiencing people lashing out at this stereotype.

People make fun of me at my schoolbecause they are sick. Like this one kid keeps coming up to me and waving chicken and other animal carcasses in my face saying crap about how delicious it is and how he could never be a vegetarian. Thank god i have friends who understand and punch him. lol.
Meat eaters need to get overthemselves they are the ignorant ones not wanting to believe that we are healthier, stronger, and faster.

Personally I think it's back lash. Vegetarians, and especially Vegans have a tendency to look down on anyone that is omnivorous. So as a result, many people have become resentful of the "I'm better because I don't kill animals" attitude they get. So they lash out at all of the vegetarians. Personally, I don't agree with vegetarianism, but I acknowledge everyone's right to choose. Just please acknowledge mine as well.

Many people suffer a fear of things different than themselves. It's called "xenophobia", and is the reason we have racism and other forms of hatred.
Some people react to things they don't understand by avoidance, rejection, ridicule, and even violence, rather than inquisitiveness and acceptance. I pity every last one of them.

As long as you're different they'll find a way to make you feel stupid about it. It's a narrow minded world we live in.

In general, people fear what they do not understand. This is the root of most all prejudice.
