Here's my question to you: Does marriage prevent STD's?

People contract and spread STD's whether married, single, gay, straight, bi. It depends on what the person is doing and with whom.

This is kind of silly but if you mean it. It has nothing to do with being married or not. It has to do with having more than one partner. So IF a married couple is faithful to each other other then STDs would be unlikely. HIV has other ways of transimition so it could come from another source. if people have sex with one person and that person does not have an STD they dont get an STD. But sometimes single people will move from one partner to another. If they dont make sure they do not have an STD before having sex with a new partner then they risk passing along an STD. It is important that a person be tested regualarly if they are changing partners.

Unfortunately yes; some STDs take a while to appear of flare up. That happened to my husband. If this is the case with you it's not the end of the world; just talk to each other and don't blame. I'd also get tested for other STDs because you never know, but don't automatically assume someone is cheating; however, don't exclude adultery when discussing where this "problem" may have come from. Hope this helps!

If there wasn't an STD present before, there shouldn't be now. Unless someone has gone "somewhere else", then a married couple is just swapping back and forth the same old germs.

The only exception is a yeast infection or a specific type of bacterial infection of the vagina. Sometimes a yeast infection can be cause by a woman or a man not wiping properly after a bowel movement. Bacteria or yeast that grow naturally in the intestine/colon can cause infection.

of course you can! if either of you has stds before you were married you can still get them now. your wedding vows don't make the stds go away.

now.. if neither of you had an std before you were married and one does now.. there is a problem. like a cheating problem. you should probably see whats going on here... are you cheating.. why? is your husband cheating and if so where did the stds come from?

stds don't care if you are married, a victim of rape, or losing your virginity at the age of 16 with the one you are going to spend the rest of your life with.

ps... you can get crabs from a toilet seat. just so you know.

Well if one or both carried an STD before they got married then sure why not. Also if one of them is unfaithful and brings something home then yet again they could get it. Honesty is key so make sure you really trust your partner. By the way you really cant trust anyone so dont always be so trusting.

No, Getting married takes all of your STD's away! Come on, I know you might be 12 but just think before you ask.

If you were both without STDs before getting married and now all of a sudden one of you has one, then somebody's got some explaining to do! Sounds like someone has been unfaithful to me.

Yes... its not about being married or not.. its about being monogimus (being with only each other), perhaps one of you had an STD without knowing it... some can be very nasty and lay almost undetected for a long time and then... ouch.

Yes. Perhaps they had the std before the got married, or one of them has had sex (oral, manual, anal, vaginal) with a person outside of the marriage, and that person had an std.
