Syphilis.

In the primary stage of syphilis a person can develop syphilis sores, also called chancre. These sores can sometimes be confused as genital herpes sores.

It's been around for a while. Doctors have been dealing with herpes for 150 years. It's a well known human condition and well documented.

Not much you can do honestly...you could always get a second opinion.
