yes can lead to cataracts pretty quickly, i have diabetes for 2 years now and developed cataracts within 6 months of diagnosis of diabetes. if you have diabetes you need an eye exam yearly, the only way to correct cataracts is lens replacement, this is a done on an out patient procedure . insurance also covers this condition,

Yes, once cataracts form the process is irreversable. Cataract surgery is the only real treatment for the condition. The lens replacement surgery is both safe and effective, it is in my humble opinion one of the true miracles of medicine.

yes it can lead to cataracts. you can help sugar and all by diet. but you have to be very careful and have eyes checked you can lose sight if you aren't careful when diabetic.
