Just use your ice climbing boots with ski mountaineering bindings.

Petzl makes a toe bail for most of it's step in crampons that will fit over a 75mm norm Telemark ski boot, but it's only good for mountaineering, not so much for vertical ice.

Just about every vertical ice crampon I've seen will work with a standard alpine ski boot or an Alpine Touring boot. Garmont and Scarpa AT boots work well for ice climbing.

Having fitted many a boot I can say that if you have a wider foot you may want a Garmont. You need a narrow foot to fit a Scarpa boot well. Of course, thermo molding helps, but the shell fit on a Garmont boot seems to work better for most people I've fitted.

If you come down to the decision between buying a plastic mountaineering boot you will ski in, or a ski boot you will climb in...go for the ski boot, it is more versatile.

Yes.

You can get either. They make bindings for your backcountry skis that fit ice cimbing boots. But you can also just order different sized crampon bindings that will will fit back country ski boots (at least for some brands of crampons, I know for sure).

Of course, regular crampons already fit alpine ski boots if you want to do that, and they're not too bad for ice cimbing, but not ideal for steep ice. In my experience, the best alpine boots to use for ice are beginner style, rear-entry boots, because they are at a less aggressive angle than the adavnced/racing style.

It all depends on what you want to focus on. I would think you should get some ski bindings that fit ice climbing boots, since that's the most technical of the two. I've also seen stiffening starps that go over ice climbing boots to make them better for steep skiing.

I've seen this stuff on ebay, but I cant think of the brands off hand. I don't really mix the two sports myself, but I like the idea of it, so I was looking into it.

Have fun, hope you find wht you're looking for.
