Aprox 1 in 10 pap smears show abnormal results.

This can be as simple as a slight thrush infection!

If your doctor thought it was no big deal, it probably isn't. If there was a major problem, you would probably know about it. You can get a second opinion on this one, and I would understand your doing so if you did. This is your body, not your doctors. If it was something that could cause sterility, it would've been discussed with you. Did the doctor tell you to have a repeat pap dones sometime soon to see if it cleared up? If not, and you don't see a second doctor, call and ask. I had one once, it was increased skin cells. But, I shared the reason for it before the test was even done. It cleared up. There's nothing wrong with being extra safe. Good luck.

Yeah i had this too. but because i worked at the doctors she explained alot better.
1 out of 10 ( i think it was ) sexually young women have abnormal smears. Its common and your not alone.
you should have been asked to come back for a repeat in so many months - i was asked to come back in 6months to have another. and when i went the doctor was right it had cleared. its something to do with the cells, cant remember but dont stress. it will clear and you should have another in 6 months if you are worried.

if it is close to your period or you had sex three days before your pap there may easily be abnormal cells. if you are very concerned wait a few weeks and request another one. if you feel like you have symptoms get blood work and everything else done. just to put your mind at ease.
as for babies...... if your doctor wasn't concerned you shouldn't be either.
