Vegans are only "allowed" to eat non-animal products. For strict Vegans that means absolutely no meat, dairy (cheese, milk, butter) and even no honey since it is an animal by-product.

This can lead to a boring menu some may think but there are plenty of ways to make a salad and cook vegetables. Also, if you crave protein you can get tons from beans.

Make sure you take a good multi-vitamin also because most Vegans/Vegetarians lack the essential vitamin B-12 since it doesn't exist naturally in non-animal foods

Vegans are supposed to not be allowed to eat any animal products or foods that use animal products. Dairy, eggs, and meat are all non-vegan foods. However, synthetic foods that are a subsitute to non-vegan foods are vegan.(Such as synthetic eggs)Some refined sugars are not considered vegan because of the animal bone charcoal used in the filtering process. Many researchers are also trying to decide whether insect products such as honey is vegan or not. In these cases, the definition of vegan is mostly based on one's religion or own decision. To be on the safe side though, it may be best to avoid honey.

Fruits, vegetables, grains, seeds, nuts, beans/pulses--lots of good stuff. Tofu, tempeh, seitan, all sorts of analogues. There's plenty to eat!

BTW, Red Dye #40 is not made from bugs, so it's technically vegan. It's carmine that's made from crushed cochineal beetles.

Everything except:

Meat
Seafood
Poultry
Eggs
Dairy- milk, cheese, ice cream, etc
Honey
Certain food coloring made from insects- ie red dye #40

Most vegans also do not wear fur or leather.

If it tastes bland and lacks complete nutrition, they can eat it . Strick ones: nothing containing meat, milk, cheese, poultry, eggs, or fish. At the other end, anything but meat (while doctors will try to talk you out of any vegetanarianism, this is the one they will recommend if they fail).

There's a reason doctors do this and also there's the census data that shows vegans have a significantly lower life expectancy. Facts and truth often hurt (too bad!).

You can't eat anything that comes from an anI'mal so no milk or gelatin(but im a vegetarian and i don't eat that either) so you have to eat soy instead. This does include chocolate=( because milk is included in making it.Good Luck!

If they are strictly vegans, only veggies and non-meat proteins. No animal products whatsoever. Partial vegans will usually eat chicken and/or fish, milk, cheese, and other dairy products.

Anything that doesn't have to do with any animal products. Eating soymeat with vegetables and drinking soymilk are just two examples.
