I'll be sixteen in January and I want an amazing party. My parents aren't 100% sure about it and because we don't have as much money as the people on the Sweet 16 show. What I really want is for everyone to get dressed up and my parent's rent out a place, and it'll be like a huge dance, but I think that could get expensive, any ideas for something fun and on the cheaper side?

Why not go iceskating in an indoor or outdoor rink? I'm sure any iceskating center could pull together a fantastic party for you. If you want, you can ask them to reserve a certain time just for you and your friends and have no other people there. You should also get a really nice iceskating outfit. (don't wear a fancy dress on ice!) You could also bring in your own CDs and blare them around the rink. Then go to a fancy restaurant/hotel for dinner.

Or... you can treat your friends to a day at the spa. Get your nails done and get a makeover! Do your hair and makeup there too. Do before and after pictures.

Or... spend a day at the mall. Buy whatever you want and get a new wardrobe! Everyone can pick out an outfit for another person and they'll have to wear it. (PS You can mix this idea with the one about the spa. Go to the mall afterward because then it's the new you with new clothes!)

Good Luck! And happy early Sweet Sixteen!

Well i'm not sure how much a place will be to rent out but instead of paying for entertainment you can have your own ofun. Such as have a dance off. Maybe even a singing contest. Other Simple Free things.

This site has a whole list of " Sweet 16 " birthday parties that other people have done. They tell you everything they did. Some were voted award winners.
