that is within the "normal" guidelines for a healthy adult. I wouldn't suggest taking supplements to increase unless recomended by a doctor as too much iron can be harmful as well.
But to increase you can do a few things, green leafy vegies esp spinich (you know what I mean, I don't eat it or know how to spell it) are high in iron. Generally they also recomend liver, red meat etc (which is out for you).. But chicken & fish are also good sources of dietary iron.
Vitamin C helps the body absorb iron so if you take supplements or eat your green vegies having them with OJ will increase the amount of iron absorbed through the gut.

For a adult male it should be greater than 13 but having 11.8 doesn't said any bad thing about your health, take lots of fruits( Apple , orange) and dates so that it will increase your iron level in blood after one week go and check once more your blood level , Hope you will get a good result

That's a little on the low side for a male, but it's not low enough to cause you any trouble. Just make sure you're getting enough iron in your diet. Leafy greens are a good veg source.

The average Hb level for an adult human male is between 11.0 and 12.5, so you are OK.

I heard of a vegetarian girl who had skin trouble, her mother took her to the doctor, and he said :- It's OK to be a vegetarian provided you eat red meat once a week. She did and the skin condition cleared up.
