Can anyone suggest charities or companies who reuse old PC monitors. I have a load I am looking to get rid of that are still working and in good conition. I don't want to pay large disposal costs if I can avoid it.

Whenever someone puts a question like this I always first direct to http://earth911.org/search-recycle?what=computers&where=&max_distance=25&goRecycle=

This site you can find out where to recycle anything just about... from soda cans to paint cans to tires to computers.

It gives you a list of local places you can take your item to to recycle it based on the item and your zip code :)

Also, I have to agree with everyone else.. for an item like this you could probably find a new home for it easy with freecycle or craigslist - and the good thing about those two is whoever wants it will come pick it up!

Not sure what you mean by "a load" but you could try
http://www.speedie.co.uk/acatalog/shop.html
or
http://www.computerdisplays.co.uk/17%20inch.htm
who deal in such-they may interested in taking them off your hands.
(Actually I am after a 17" CRT monitor for my "second computer" myself.!)
Another thought is the local(Cheltenham or Gloucester) uni noticeboard -impecunious students trying to put a system together to do their uni work on may be interested.

There are charities that give working computers and components to people who need them but can't afford to buy one, I'd look for one of them first, then try "freecycle"
