One year ago today, I became a vegetarian. August 15, 2006!!! So to end my anniversary, I decided to ask a question...How long have you been a vegetarian/vegan? I'm really curious about all you people that answer questions in this category so I figured this was a good way to get to know you a little better. Here's to another year...Cheers!!!

27 years.

I became veggie overnight after having seen a prize winning pig farm.

I thought " if thats the best we've got to offer, then i'm outta here" and never looked back.

congratulations on your aniversary !

Perhasp Jasin might like to look at the issues around milk production before deciding vegans are irrational

I was vegetarian for a year before I became fully vegan and it's been about three years now altogether.

My family (hubby and two kids now ages 6 and 10) have come along the vegride with me all this time as well.

I wish you many more happy and healthy anniversaries.

I've been a vegetarian since I was 6. I'm now 18. The taste of meat actually made me fairly sick, and I always preferred the vegetarian options at the school cafeteria.... so I decided to go vegetarian; I could get a cheese zombie (does anyone remember those?) and do something for animals

Happy veggie anniversary! I've been vegetarian since July of 1987. Not sure of the exact date but it was shortly after the 4th & I'd been cutting back on meat for a couple of months. For practicality's sake I had intended to finish off the meat in the fridge but I realized that I just couldn't so it went to the neighbors & my cat.

Sorry, I don't feel very irrational, Jasin. I just feel good. Ah, well, who knows, maybe someday you'll convert :D
Happy vegetarianniversary! What did you do to celebrate?
I went vegan on September 19, 2006. So it's almost time to start bakin' the vegan cupcakes for the party.

I went vegetarian in January of 2002 and vegan a few months later (I'm not sure exactly when). My only regret is that I didn't do this sooner.

I was 12 when I became vegetarian, and I am now 17. I am very proud of myself; if only everyone cared about animals.

6 months? Not sure exactly. I'm a lacto-ovo vegetarian not a vegan.

I dont believe in what vegans preach. Vegans seem a little irrational to me.

I am a vegetarain for health and financial reasons.

Being a vegetarian saves me money, raw soybeans for example are $2.50 a package and 1 package last a month. 1 Stake however, is $5.00-$9.00 and is good for only 1 meal, maybe 2 if you cut it up.

My cholesterol has gone down big time being a vegetarian and my bp has stabalized. Plus, I just feel better overall, I feel good.

I've been a vegan since the end of April... it's the end of August now... so about five months. And they were the best five months of my life!
