that means blood is somewhere in her upper GI tract, her esophagus could be irritated, or she could have an internal bleed, if she has a hard or rigid abdomen, she needs to get to the ER right away. good luck

It is commonly used for bleeding from the mouth, a vague indistinguishable term, the blood can come from the esophagus,stomach due to ulcer or varices . this is known as hematemesis or it can be from the lungs too known as hemoptysis.
If she is sixteen than consult a physician immediately, and follow his advise.
