When I ate meat, I liked to eat it rare with blood oozing out; it reminded me of what it really was. Also, I wanted to be vegetarian when I was a child but my mother wouldn't let me. If we ordered steak in a restaurant I always made sure I ordered it rare because it grossed my mother out.
I got in trouble once at dinner; my mom served some kind of steak with mushrooms and I said "Oh good, fungus and flesh." My mom got up from the table and said she couldn't eat. My dad just sat down and ate.

I usually stir-fry my mock steak strips in a pan that's lightly oiled; then I add little chucks of tofu.

Try to be respectful, why do you guys insist on doing this? No vegetarian likes to have meat stuck in there face and this is not an exception of you guys teasing us. Use your brains, wait I forgot the smarter people go vegetarian. P.S. I like TVP (textured vegetable protein) right out of the bag. Like Ryan I don't like to eat rotting corpses with steroids in them.

Seared, cooked medium rare, sauce over with some kind of potatoes and either asparagus or green beans. You gotta have mushrooms and onions with your steak too. And a nice hearty salad.

if it's a good cut of meat and cooked properly it doesn't need sauces or marinade. that just cover up the flavor.
a perfect steak would be a filet mignon or porterhouse, seasoned with salt and pepper, cooked medium rare, with a slight caramelized crust.
if you like your steak well done, you don't like steak.
added to say:
i didn't even notice it was in vegetarian! i don't look at that the 'subtopics'. i stricly go to just plain old 'food & drink' so i can see all the questions. if this was to antagonize v & v, that's just plain mean. bad girl.

I have no favorite way to eat steak because i do not eat decaying corpses, they are an inferior food source.

your asking this in a vegan / vegetarian section ? thats so cruel who were you hoping to rial with that 1 lol .....
personally I prefer mine marinated the night before a light worcestishire sauce / soy sauce maybe add some honey pepper and herbs pre-heat your fry pan and the best steak for this is Australian rump steak then put it in the pan sear until the meat has browned up halfway from the base then flip and repeat I dont like my cow mooing as I eat it so I make sure it cooks thoroughly then remove the steak and place it on a plate with a mixture of fried onion / tomato and bacon mix serve with mashed potato or a light salad delicious .....
