I think you mean "high risk".

When I was first diagnosed with HPV I was told I had high risk HPV. I had pre-cancerous cells on my cervix which eventually did turn into cervical cancer. Luckily, my doctor had caught it really early though and I was able to get treatment. Even though I have had abnormal pap smears since then, so far the cancer has not come back.

Take care!

So, your pap test came back as high grade, and your HPV test came back as positive. Then, a colposcopy (surgical biopsy of the cervix cells) came back as you having cells in your cervix associated with cervical cancer. If you answered yes to all of these questions....it really depends on the exact results of your colposcopy. You should call the nurse or the doctor and request those results. Based on the level of association between the cells in your cervix and potential for cancer, the doctor may just want to follow you every 3 months or so (meaning you'll need to come back for pap tests). Another option is to ask the doctor whether or not those abnormal cells can be removed all together. This is just one scenario, but every patient is different. Every doctor is different as well. So, if you're really worried about it, I would even recommend you get a second opinion.

Not sure what you mean by high. But I was told that there are 5 levels. #1 being abnormal cells and #5 being full bloen cancer. I have #2...and its been that way for almost a year now.
