Okay, well my 4 year old sister has been acting weird and well, not eating much/peeing alot or whatever so my mom took her to the hospital a couple of hours ago and i stayed home. My Mom called like 5 minutes ago to tell me that they think she might a have a bladder/kidney infection. And possibly urine infected or something.

Im a bit worried.. well really worried, does anyone know what harm it can cause and if its deadly please let me know, she also has to stay in the hospital for a night or two.. on i.v and antibiotics.

She will be fine. It is usually caused by bacteria getting into the urethra. An infection in the bladder is difficult to get rid of because the bladder is the ideal environment for the bacteria to thrive. It is warm, moist, and has a near constant food source.

A few days of antibiotics is usually all it takes. They may insert a catheter to fully empty the bladder to help speed things along.

Sure, females children are more prone to urinary tract infection as compared to males. In my opinion your sister has a long way to go in life, let her stay in hospital as I think the infection requires immediate and robust treatment.
Mostly the cause in females urethra is close to anus, and more exposed to sitting on WC, lack of hygiene this is the most common cause.
