she has had a boot for about 2 years ,and it doesnt seem to be getting better ,it is just so sad she was so active ,and i feel she is getting draged down by it all .we try to be positive but i think she is finding it very hard ,does it get better or is it a degenarative illness

Sadly, Charcot Foot is a degenerative condition. It is unlikely to improve, and tends to get worse quicker in people with peripheral neuropathy.

There is not cure for Charcot Foot but it can be treated and the patient needs to stay in touch with the doctor and do exactly what the doctor recommends. Charcot foot is a very serious condition that can lead to severe deformity, disability and even amputation.

my son has it ; no cure ; very slow degeneration
