I have been told by some that they try to eat less fatty meat or just don't want to eat any. Despite the importance of protein in our diet, some will just sacrifice to support their political stand on animal cruelty. Though most animals don't have much of a future, these creatures have families and life...just as plants, flowers and roots have.

Many people eat meat for the flavor and heartiness of the meal. some meat has so much natural flavor, that it requires little or no side dish. One or two of my relatives call vegetables "side dishes", though I make salads an entire meal sometimes.

We should accept the choices of foods that others make and just make the most of the ones we make. There is, nor has there ever been a reason to get violent or upset or even uncomfortable with the choice of food that a stranger eats. What for?

It boils down to this....

Genesis 1
29 Then God said, "I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food. 30 And to all the beasts of the earth and all the birds of the air and all the creatures that move on the ground—everything that has the breath of life in it—I give every green plant for food."

Life is too short to make enemies over a hamburger, or a salad.

I don't eat meat because I love animals. Some people turn vegetarian for various health reasons. For those who eat meat, it might be because they just can't take a vegetarian diet (their bodies simply don't allow it, or because they have to due to some underlying medical conditions).

I'm vegetarian because I no longer craved meat. I quit eating meat the same Way I quit smoking. I no longer craved them so I stopped needing them.

No real reason,

once i found something weird in a McDonald's burger and it grossed me out, so I stopped eating burgers.

another time, i cooked a stew and didn't notice anything wrong until it started smelling weird like vinegar... i stupidly had a taste and it was disgusting cos the meat was off...

so i stopped eating meat...

i'm not a vegetrian by any standards, i don't avoid anything. i'll eat meat and am happy to cook it, in fact i love cooking all sorts of food.

i just don't feel like eating meat atm, it's been 6yrs...

I'm a vegetarian because I don't feel comfortable eating things with faces and because I think meat taste gross. It's not my thing.

People have varying reasons for both, I think.

For veg: better health, cruelty to animals, cleaner environment, global warming, global hunger, etc.

For meat: it's the way they grew up, they believe we need a LOT of protein, stereotypes of vegans as skinny/feminine/weak, the advertising dollars of the meat/dairy industries has convinced them meat is healthier, not fully educated on the effects to the environment, etc.

It depends on the individual, obviously. Everyone eventually has to choose their own path and rationalize it to themselves.

people are veggies for many reasons. 1) they're against anI'mal cruelty(like me) 2)for their health. we have less chance of getting heart attacks, blood clots etc. 3) some just don't like meat
people eat meat because it tastes good. it depends where you got it from.i miss the taste of meat, i won't lie. but I'm doing this because im against animal cruelty
