Some will say yes some no.The animal is already dead now so throwin it away is a waste, just dont buy any new stuff, sayin that i would wear wool from an animal that isnt kept for killin or constant exploitation, say a pet alpaca,i think that would be morally acceptable(well to me anyway)

It's really a personal decision. On one side, that'd be defeating the purpose of being a vegan (not harming animals) On the other side, since you bought those items before you became a vegan it's OK. Personally, I kept my wool and leather items because I believe that it's better for the cause (if your an ethical vegan) to keep the items instead of using money that would be better spent on spreading the word of animal rights on new, vegan items to replace the wool and leather. I hope I made sense... ;)

I agree that everyone will have to make their own decision. Personally, I am replacing my leather shoes and belts as I go. It's hard for me to find them where I live, so whenever I can I buy new stuff and donate the old. I do not feel that wearing out your old stuff is in any way anti-vegan. If I had unlimited options and money, I would have gone all the way on my first day, but as it stands it will take a little longer.

There are no vegan police. Do whatever you can to end animal suffering and that's all anyone can ask.

I'd say yes, go for it. Either that, or give it away to a thrift store and buy new stuff. I have a friend who gave her stuff away but included a note requesting that whoever took it watch the film "Earthlings".

I personally don't see any problem with continuing to use old stuff--you already paid for the animal to die/suffer for it (the leather industry makes as much money as the beef one, so it's really a co-product rather than a byproduct), so what's the difference? That is, unless you are concerned with the idea that wearing it will look you like support the industry.

well, I understand that that you've had leather before thinking of becoming a vegan/ will become one (maybe?).. but the idea behind the vegan lifestyle is not to wear or eat anything deprived from animals.
give it a thought. I mean I'm vegan but if I were to wear leather but still ate a vegan diet I wouldn't call myself a vegan, you know.

I'm a vegetarian not a vegan but my thoughts...
By participating in that way of life, I would thing that the thought of wearing an animal skin would naturally disgust you.
I don't think that you have to get rid of what you already have... but if you felt that way about animals... why would you wear it proudly on your body? I don't think it would be wrong to do so... I just don't understand how your conscience could let you.
Just a thought and being curious, no need to bash...

Do whatever you feel is best. I personally gave away all my leather and wool but if you don't want to then don't. It depends on what your reasoning is really. Either way, if you don't buy these products from now on then you are doing your bit by not supporting the wool and leather industry... good for you!

The thing with this vegan malarkey is that there are no right or wrong answers, you're making the change because you want to heed to your own morals, not somebody else's, therefor if you think it's OK to wear the clothes you already have then its fine, you shouldn't compare yourself to others, especially if you are not completely sure on their morals. Just do what you think is right and you can't make a mistake.

Some people wear the old stuff until it wears out and then replace it with an animal-friendly model, while others replace their animal products with cruelty-free items. It's entirely up to you.

The best solution is to gain control over it. As someone already said, stop when you're getting there and relax. Pay more attention to pleasuring your mate--orally, perhaps--and avoid rubbing your penis up against anything while doing so. It will take work on your part and patience on both parts. As a last resort, some antidepressants curb sexual functioning with the intention of learning the pleasure of restraint after which you could taper off them. Here's your goal: the longer you can delay your orgasm, the more intense it will be. So it isn't just a matter of satisfying your mate. This is the main reason some claim stoned sex is better, unlike drunk sex which can leave you unable to perform (brewer's droop). You enjoy exploring each other longer. And remember, oral isn't just one place. It's all over, paying particular attention to kissing, and TALK about what each of you like. Strange how people don't talk about sex when they're the ones doing it.
