I realize we all have different styles when it comes to reaching the rest of the world with the truth about how animals are really treated. I have my own style and you have yours. I just get so frustrated sometimes when I read stuff like... "We have been eating animals for centuries so why should we stop now" and "We have cuspids which are made for tearing meat", etc., etc.. I just want people to stop killing animals, that is all I ever wanted. Can we look past our differences and focus on a common goal. All this hating one another is not helping anything.

Thanks everyone for your replies. I am still learning and the last thing I want to do is try and force someone to stop eating meat. I just want to get the truth out there and sometimes I get so frustrated that I lose my focus. I just get confused sometimes.

I have never eat meat, ever. My mum raised me as a vegan.

no, i've turned into a vindictive childish narrow minded hater.

guess where i learnt it ?

You have caused too much damange to vegetarians and vegans in this forum, given all the meaty trolls months of ammunition...

it was YOU that took the focus off the real issues and focussed everyone on your childish tantrums so you've a cheek asking if WE can focus on a common goal.

come back after a similar period of asking sensible un-biased question ( this is a Q&A forum - not a soapbox ) and ask again if we can turn the page.

EDIT: Just read through some of your recent answers. You have no intention of "turning the page" and are probably just trying to avoid getting banned by calming down for a while. We used to have a meaty-troll called fox-hunter-guy who followed a similar pattern as you, and it would not suprise me at all if you were that person.

Several of us now beleive you are a meaty-troll ? Are you getting the message as to the impact of your style ? We can't even tell if you are a fox hunting meaty troll, a juicarian, a vegan...whatever

I have told you before that I admire your enthusiasm very much.

But in my 50 years of life, I have found that a subtle approach is always better than beating people over the head. Extremely forceful preaching tends to scare most people away and becoming too emotional tends to expose your own weaknesses--it's much better to stay cool and strong.

This is really a side note: But it's funny that people say "we have canine teeth to tear meat." I have never seen a human being who had teeth like my dog, except in a vampire movie.

I think the best thing to do is to try to sell the idea of eating a lot less meat. For example in Mexico they eat a mostly meatless diet, except on special occasions. And then they eat meat. I would like to see meat eating eliminated just like you - but I see trying to do it that way hasn't been very effective. If we can sell the idea of eating less meat, then look at how many more animals might not be killed. Same with leather products. Maybe by trying to get people to consume less - that might work.

I agree with what you are saying.

I think the root of this entire problem is that the whole issue has been mis-represented by people who are trying to sell a product inthis case meat. They have people absolutely convinved that you need to eat meat to be healthy. One thing vegans can do is to show them how healthy you can be. If a vegan appears to be sick, then that just reinforces their case. See what I mean?

I think there's way too much anger on both sides and I wish people could learn to see the other perspective. Even if not - I hope we can all learn to treat each other with kindness

There is nothing wrong with having principles, beliefs and morals, however, expecting others to be like you,or at least to agree with you through insults or patronising comments,is completely wrong.
Have the wisdom to see we are not all the same, people will always eat meat, accept you cannot change that and life will be much easier for you,you cannot stop people killing animals,it is naiive and immature to believe you can.I personally despise anyone who wears fur, beating them about the head isn't going to change anything, educating them might.Stop your bludgeoning approach and count to ten.Breathe!!!!

To be fair and I am I have tried to help you out in the past with honest and constructive support but you have a terrible habit constantly preaching and using this forum as a soapbox you rarely post questions but rather personal statements.

As you clearly are a misguided extremist you will never gain any ones support for your cause, in fact and it's been said many times before you do more damage, but I still think this is what you are after as stated you actually are an anti-vegan troll hell bent and causing `bad press` for want of better wording in this rather Nobel section.

Remember to preach your cause you MUST live by your cause and as you use a computer, live in a house, walk on grass, you are too hypocritical and therefore not qualified to preach to me nor anyone else.

Use this web service as it's interned rather than soapbox preaching and maybe after a bit of time you could actually become respected rather than laughed at and ridiculed

You know it's funny. When i first started to get really involved in finding out about the 'behind-the-scenes' of the farming industry, i wanted to tell everyone. i felt almost like I'd found myself screaming at all the people walking around me but no one could hear me. And then my boss asked me what about my brother, would he stop eating meat too? (with a look like, but your going to die! thrown in for good measure) I responded like this - no. i can't force my brother to do that, he needs to choose for himself. but, he never will, because i won't ever tell him about the things i know, about what really happens because he's my brother and i want to protect him. That surprised me. The truth is he might go there himself as he grows older as i have, or he may not but the most important thing, is that we all have free will.

While you can't force people to believe in the things you do, you can only have hope that believing yourself will make a difference.

What is most ironic are the scientists that believe we evolved from apes, writing their papers while chewing a piece of meat?!? wouldn't that then make us herbivores?

Just some thoughts...

Ashley, what you need to realize is, that in order to live in harmony (which you have stated before) is that you have to accept people for what they are. I have friends who are vegetarians, I have never once asked them why don't they eat some meat, and they never try to make me stop. Being united means that people are willing to accept everyone for who they are. I understand and can fully appreciate your ideas about being a vegan, but you go about educating people in a completely bonkers way, which is why you get such hateful replies to your posts.

The best you can do is to change yourself. There will be no sweeping changes, if the change you want comes at all, it will be over time, slowly, like water cutting a path through stone. You speak of a 'common goal', but it isn't common to a lot of people. I'm with you though, and so are a lot of others. Well done for speaking your mind... just hope you can take the stick with good grace.

I don't understand why people eat meat. They say that we our body needs meat because it has a lot of protein. However, humans are not design to eat meat. Our body was design to eat plants. We are the only animals that need to cook the meat that we are going to eat. Other carnivores like lions and tigers don't need to cook their food because their bodies are design to eat meat. They have the proper stomach and the proper teeth. Humans eat it because they think it is good. Maybe meat tastes good but it is very unhealthy. That's why there are a lot of fat pople. Sickness like cholesterol, high blood preassure, heart attacks, colon cancer and many other are caused mainly because we eat meat. Did you know that a lot of scientists think that in less than one hundred years there is going to be a mass extiction thanks to the fact that we eat beef. There is a lot of deforestation because farmers have to clear the forests and jungles to raise cows. However, since more people are ignorant and stupid they wont stop eating meat. Most people are what I call "trash" and thanks to them we are all going to die soon. My only hope is that one day people would stop eating meat. The main reasons are: To protect to enviroment, becoming more healthy, stoping the suffering of innocent animals. My advice is to become Vegan. I am a vegan I am very happy, it was hard to become vegan but it has been one of the most important decisions that I have ever made.
