the machines that clasp onto those sensitive udders, that make them sore and irritated day after day. Then the sores open up and drip out white blood cells, pus and blood!!! Enjoy your contaminated cheese, butter, yogurt, and milk!

Good question! I'm not sure why more vegetarians refuse dairy in their diets. To me, torturing the animals whilst alive in the dairy industry is just as bad as the violent and greusome demise they meet when being killed for food.
The dairy industry is closely tied to the meat industry...when milking cows are all used up and cannot be used any more, they are sent to slaugter to become food. The veal industry is closely tied to dairy farms. Taking the little calves away from their mums and depriving them of the milk that THEY should be drinking instead of US.
Well, I'm sure you already know of all the horrors. But you pose a great question. I refuse to consume dairy b/c the living conditions for those animals are cruel and unusual.

Lacto vegetarians can customer dairy products, although some dairy products are no longer vegetarian. some cheese is synthetic making use of animal abdomen enzymes. it incredibly is important for vegetarians to verify those animal enzymes are no longer used. yet another occasion the place making use of dairy isn't acceptable for vegetarians is while yogurt includes gelatin. Gelatin, like the animal enzymes is an animal byproduct. The reasoning at the back of vegetarians having the flexibility to eat dairy products is that the animal does not die to grant the milk.

I don't buy dairy because it supports the cruelty of animals. I know I support it in other ways, but I look at it this way: If every one didn't buy dairy or animal products that industry would go out of business. I know that will never happen, but I just do the best I can. Milk is bad for you any way.

People are horribly killed in war, in traffic accidents, in fires, and in cancer wards. Dairy cattle are dispatched far more humanely.

Most vegetarians consume eggs and milk. It's mostly vegans that do not.

Of course, you could argue that eggs are baby chicks that are *really* young, and you could argue that milk is available because a calf was raised for veal.

There isn't really a good moral stance here. If it's wrong to kill animals, why is it OK to kill vegetables? Veggies, after all, are just animals that move very slow....

Because they are still exploited (hope I spelled that right). Like chikens they are confined into very very small cages so they can produce eggs. Cows are the same way.... (well, most of them) they are confined in very small places and this places are PACKED... so no room to move around whatsover... I believe some of these places are so packed that the poor cows can't even lay down.... The way these animals are kept is cruel... that is why I am a vegan and avoid all of the byproducts....

well they are forced to have all these chemicals in there body and usually the machines hurt the cows and they are forced to breed at unhealthy rates to produce more milk. does that sound cruel or what?
