I can guess what your aunt showed you. I have an emergency kit with a pre-filled syringe of something called Glucagon.

However, if you are too scared to do it, call 911 immediately!!

Any time someone with Diabetes passes out, call 911. Do not stop to test their glucose levels. They are at a point of emergency, and it doesn't matter if their numbers are too high or too low.

AFTER you call 911, then you can test their glucose levels, so you have the information to tell the paramedics (although they will test it again themselves).

After you call 911 and if you test them and see their numbers are too low, do NOT try to pour any liquids in their mouth — they will choke or inhale the liquid. If the person has a tube of glucose gel, the only thing you can try is to spread a THIN layer of the gel onto the inside of their cheeks. Some of it will be absorbed, helping a little bit to raise the numbers.

A person with Diabetes should never let themselves get to the point where they pass out. Of course, in their sleep, it can't always be helped. But during the day, they must test their glucose levels much more than they are doing now. This is the best way to know how your numbers are doing and the only way to prevent the numbers from getting too low without you noticing.

Good luck to you.

Your aunt probably showed you the glucagon shot. You do not need to worry about testing the blood sugar if they pass out. If you have that shot just follow the instructions and give it to them, it could save their life. Call 911 imediately before you do anything though. If you are too scared to give the shot they will get there and do it, dont worry....Unless they have bad control I doubt they will pass out. I have never passed out, out of the 12 years I've had it.

make sure those close to you explain what to do if they pass out. if they need you to do something when they are passed out and you are too scared tell them and find an alternative.make sure they wear a medic alert bracelet so when they pass out you know who to call immediately.also, if they feel funny or strange let them know that they can tell you the symptoms before something serious happens.you don't want to pass out too often because its not the best for their health.

what they do is go uncouscience. what you do is make orange juice and put couple spoons of sugar in it and stir. then you get them to take it my mom has been cmpletely out for 10 minutes or so and so far i have been lucky and shes drank it. if she can't drink it then you need to call ambulance and get them there quick. they can take care of it give them list of all meds and tell them shes in diabetic problem.
