wonder who gave you the magical figure of 230, the person does not know what he/she is talking about. with that kind of count the silent killer(diabetes) will not take long to facilitate organ failures?? i do not mean to alarm you but i have had diabetes for over ten years so i know.
aim it keeping the count at 90/130, which may be difficult at this stage, however definitely keep it under 110/160, which you will be able to achieve with correct medication and lots and lots of brisk walking. there is no other solution.
GOOD LUCK, DONT FORGET TO WALK??????????

first of all there are many factors that can play into this, are you type 1 or type 2? are you on medication, or just controlling by diet? Do you ever check for ketones? If you are high and have ketones NEVER exercise, this makes them worse and can put you right back into the hospital. Otherwise if your Dr. gave you the 230 number go to a new doctor, you should at least keep your blood sugars below 180 and above 70. this is a large range and not the best one but it will keep your body working healthy, otherwise you should target between 70 and 150 at the highest. Go talk with an endocrinologist (spelling) they can help you out with managing your diabetes.

It relies upon on the guy. some variety 2 diabetics could purely choose insulin if their blood sugar is greater until now a meal maximum variety a million diabetics and a few variety 2 diabetics will choose insulin each time they devour something extra advantageous than a snack (like a meal) and choose insulin regardless of if their blood sugar is well-known (like 108 is well-known).

First of all, it should be between 70 and 110. Secondly, stay away from sweets. Also I have been told to stay away from white foods (rice, potatoes and things made with white flour). Drink lots of water and try to exercise, even if it is just walking. Try to keep your weight under control. Also stay on schedule with your meds.

Eat small portions six times a day instead of having three regular sized meals, it works for me along with exercise and pills.

Research the spice cinnamon. I have read that it mimics insulin. My step dad uses it in his oatmeal to help regulate his sugar levels along with his meds.
