Did you try eating a spoon-full of sugar or holding breath for 20 seconds.The sugar helped my hiccups stop right away.

Hiccups usually occurs at regular frequency. Start sipping (little at a time) water a while after the first occurrence and continue doing so through the second one. Your hiccup should go away in that process!

This has never failed me (but I have no idea why it works).

Pour a glass of water, and cover the top with a double layer of paper towels. Drink the water through the paper towel layer (over the sink, some will spill). After a few moments, they will go away.
