You weren't told before the encounter and you weren't encouraged to use condoms.

A girlfriend of mine has herpes but she sleeps around and doesn't tell her partners that she has herpes. She feels that "if they don't ask, she's not going to tell". She is 50 yrs old so we are not talking abt a young adult here.

I don't know what to do about this, if this is even my business.

She says she doesn't have outbreaks at the time of the sex so I think this does help a bit however I have heard of "shedding".

What should I do, if anything?

- Pissed off.
- Dump him because he's not actually cares about me.
- See my doctor.

You had an unreasonable ignorant childish friend. But there's nothing you can do about it. You can't just go explain her disease to her partner, can't you ?
Or maybe wrote on her dress "she got herpes, beware !" ;P. Or maybe put this case on-air on the radio.
Or any childish attempted like that.
Well, whatever she did, except if she's on any chance slept with your partner, nothing you can do about it.

But, i agree, she need some face slap.

Yes, there isn't any. Herpes is caused by a virus. Actually, there is little cure for viruses nowadays. The only thing that you can generally do in the case of a viral infection is strengthen the immune system and hope it fights it off. Not with Herpes, the immune system can't win against it. Thus you only get to treat the symptoms. Once you're infected, it stays with you for life. So don't get infected.

Personal experience. I have had genital herpes for over 5 years.

The first thing I would do is go and see my doctor, if your lucky and she didn't have a outbreak maybe your going to be lucky but, like I said, go see your doctor, tell him what happen and see if you need treatment.

Then I would call the local health center and drop a dime on her, if she's fifty years old she knows better and, she felt this way about you. What she's doing is committing a felony in most states and should be taken out of circulation at this point, if she feels this way, I wouldn't feel guilty about it either, you could be saving some people a lot of heartbreak in the future over this.
Let the health department worry about her from now on.

I have a friend just like this. She has had herpes for a couple of years now and sleeps around a LOT. I have told her to tell her partners but I doubht she does.
Nothing you or I can really do. People are going to live their lives they way they want.
Just try talking to her about it again and letting her know what a huge deal it is.

I slept with someone who had it and didnt tell me AND I WAS VERY UPSET. because regardless of when it can be spread it should be up to me whether I want to take this chance. and i trusted this person so when i found out she completely lost my trust. If she had just told me in the first place maybe we could have worked it out.

I would sue.

Tell her she's a slut and ruining people's lives. Tell her to do the right thing and tell her partner. It is people like your "friend" that cause these things to spread so easily. Gross.
