Sometimes I have a rush of energy that will last for hours and other times I will feel completely drained and depressed. I am 21 years old and this has been effecting me for over 5 years now including school, work, sleep and relationships. Could this be a sign of diabetes? If so, where do I go to get myself checked out?

^If these are your only symptoms probably not, but you should go to your doctor and have a full physical including EKG, and a full blood panel. It could be a lot of things and it could be nothing, you can't be properly diagnosed on line.

The fact that you say you feel depressed at times, can be the cause of you feeling drained.

This is going on way to long, please go to the doctor, if you can't afford a doctor, see if there is a free clinic in your area. Good luck I hope this helped.

write a diary of what foods you eat for breakfast luch and dinner and write down what your energy levels are like after that. give it about a week then you need to go to the doctor and ask for a blood test and also a glucose test, the glucose test determines if you are producing enough insulin (you need to stop eating from 8pm the previous night, and have a morning appointment)

you will be given a blood test before you are given a glucose drink. After you drink the glucose drink the doctor will tell you to come back in 2 hours and another blood test will be taken. The blood tests (before and after the glucose drink) will be compared and determine if you have diabetes.

It may seem like a long process but it is well worth it, as it can be easily treated and you will be able to better live your life

any clinical diagnostic laboratories will do. or if any body near your house or in your house has got the sugar testing aparatus. (accutrend etc).
your symptoms do not indiate any where near diabetes,
this might be time related or diet related what ever you have.
see which days or when you are ok and see when your fell sick.
there might be some external source which might make you feel like that.
i guess you are safe and need not think of diabetes as of now.
still has some doubt, get it checked with random testing.

Your doctor will send you to a clinic for a blood test, his diagnosis will be based on the results. Your symptoms are not definitely indicative of diabetes, but it is better to have it checked, good luck.

it sounds more like depression. but if you feel you need to be seen tell the doc you think diabetics could be your problem they can test you and find out immediately. and if you are depressed they can give you stuff by sending you to good specialits for that.

It could be low blood sugar where your sugar drops and then goes back up (Hypoglycemia). Go see a doctor.
