Herpes sores are painful, itchy blisters on the penis, on the vulva, or inside the vagina. Blisters may also appear on the anus, buttocks, thighs, or scrotum, either alone or in clusters. They may be barely noticeable or as large as a coin. Blisters that break and become shallow, painful, oozing sores.
If you REALLY want to see what they look like then just do an image search using any search engine like Yahoo or Google.

Sometimes like a microscopic cut, or a patch of slightly pink and irritated skin, like a yeast infection. Sometimes a small tender lump like a small pimple, that never turns into a blister or gets a head and just goes away. Sometimes maybe three tiny tiny blisters the size of pinheads which are clear and burst within a few hours leaving a small sore. Do you know anyone who gets cold sores on their mouths? Sometimes you see them with a little 'spot', sometimes blisters, sometimes a sore. Some people get huge cold sores, some people tiny ones. Basically, cold sores are oral herpes and when the herpes is genital they look EXACTLY the same as oral herpes, no better or worse, just in a different location. If you find any horror pictures on the internet, they are of the worst case scenario of a primary outbreak when someone has just been infected. I have never had anything remotely that bad. In fact most people with genital herpes have physical symptoms so mild and hard to spot that they don't notice them. 80% of people with it don't even realise they have it it is that mild.
