It can be detrimental to your health as you can be flushing out minerals etc that your body needs. If you're drinking because you feel thirsty all the time, diabetes is not the only disease that causes excessive thirst so if that is the reason for the excessive drinking of water, then a doctor's visit is in order. If you drink it because you enjoy, that's a whole 'nother ball of wax. then you need to be sure and replenish your body's salts and minerals with either salt tablets or drink gatorade or something similar. If you are working in heat and doing hard physical work, then the amount of water may not be excessive but I would still recommend replacing your body's salts and minerals somehow.

Just curious - you say you're not diabetic - have you been tested? Remember, things can change rapidly. Keep an eye on how it goes!! Take care of yourself!

That really is too much. Are you having to use the toilet many times a day too? Are you drinking it by choice or because you need it (excessive thirst?). Any health problems you're dealing with?

Diabetes isn't the only reason for excessive thirst - if you can't make yourself drink less, then I suggest a doctors visit.

Water poisoning is very real, please be careful!

is it hot day? if it is well that could be it. when its very hot you have to have intake of alot of liquids and water is the best. diabetics have water by their bed and can't seem to get enough water all the time morning noon and nite are you like that? if you are and tired very tired after sleeping 8 hours then see the doctor.

Yes it is too much, as is. You didn't mention the level of activity either.
For normal day to day activity you should limit yourself to half a gallon of water throughout your waking day.
