I have mitral valve prolapse and I was diagnosed at 12. Im now 30. I have been taking a beta blocker (type of blood pressure medication) to control the palpitations since I was diagnosed. I got them once in a while, mainly during strenuous activity during exercise or play. I sure wasn't having sex at that age LOL. Seriously though if your doctor refuses to take you seriously then find another one. Beta blockers help with palpitations from MVP. You are suppose to be taking an antibiotic before any dental work as well, or at least that is the recommendation if you live in the USA. Im not sure where you live.

Kindly consult your doctor, and discuss the problem with him. You will end up dead.
