Menthols are supposedly harder on you.. My b/f says that he had this problem (Newport Smoker) and claims it is because of stomach ulcers.. He takes Prevacid.

Your body is not adjusted to the nicotine, so it is making you sick. I used to smoke for a long time, then I quit, every now and then I will enjoy a good cigar. I recently had one after a long time of not smoking anything and I had an emplty stomach I too got very sick until I ate something. This is your body's natural response to the nicotine stimulant.
Know that social smoking can still lead to adiction, you may want ot use the fact that it makes you ill as a tool to not do it. As someone who smoked for many years I can tell you that quitting is a lot more difficult than saying no when the oft urge arises.

you have heaps of answers but thought id lend you a hand, i to use to be a social smoker (went from being a smoker to social) until july 1st when in australia you cant smoke in pubs, clubs, bars etc: so now you have to go outsidde.so that killed my social smoking. i dont smoke anymore i went cold turkey which is the only way.
before i gave up i was feeling nauseas and sick after having one , i use to eat after and that would make it better but usually half an hour or so after id feel sick again.
The only explanation i had was that my body didnt like it and i took it as a sign to stop so i did and now im fine, i feel a lot healthier too. So take it as a sign your baody hates it .
but if you can put up with it then what ever makes you happier. People will tell you to quit, that your just trying to be cool , but its up to you. Everyone, even those who tell you its stupid have bad habits and sometimes a cigerette just takes the stress of everyday life away.

Social smokers end up with social cancer.
Your body is not liking the cigarettes so it makes you feel nauseated. There is so much crap in cigarette smoke tar, nicotine, chemicals, additives, the menthol. I too am a social smoker and smoke an ultra light non-menthol cigarette. no cigarette is a good cigarette neither of us should smoke.

Why do you want one?
Do you think it makes you cool?
Are you afraid to face your problems?
Do you think smoking will make your problems go away?
Here are some good ideas to do instead of smoking:
1. Do something that gets your heart rate up a bit like, walking, running, biking, and swimming.
2. Eat Whole, Organic foods like: Broccoli, Cabbage, Organic Brown Rice, Spinach, Sweet Potato, Apples, and other fruits and vegetables in their Natural State.
3. Avoid eating corn, white bread, white rice, candy, sodas, chips, and anything else that you already know you shouldn’t be eating.
4. Drink clean water as your beverage of choice. Avoid Fruit drinks and fruit juices (unless YOU juice them yourself)
5. Stop smoking, drinking beer & wine, and drinking coffee.
6. Get 8 hours of sleep each night.
7. Hang out with people who want to be healthy.
Tone up the muscles:
1. Join a gym and get a trainer.
2. If you’re short on cash, start a light stretching & yoga regimen.
3. Do push-ups, and light dumbbell curls for the upper body.
4. As I said above, walk, run, swim, and or bike.
5. Take an aerobics class, a yoga class, or some other fitness class.
6. Join the local YMCA..
Mental Health:
1. Get a friend to talk to each day about your feelings.
2. If you have some money or insurance, get a counselor to talk to.
3. Learn how to meditate.
4. Join a support group for the issue you’re dealing with.
5. Ask your Higher Self (or God) for guidance.
6. Start keeping a diary or journal about your feelings & thoughts.
7. Write a ‘gratitude’ list every night.

Stop menthol's and try plane Lights and don't inhale too much in to lower throat and lungs.Keep a glass of water or a coke etc and have small sips in between. You feel nauseated due to nicotine getting in to your blood stream for which you have yet to develop tolerance.Enjoy as long as you have a control over it.

The nausea is from the nicotine. Smoking is a personal choice and am in now way lecturing because I used to smoke also, BUT, nicotine is a form of poison. There is a small amount in a cigarette but if you're not used to smoking your body is getting that nicotine and reacting like it would to any poison.

Its your body telling you to stop. I have been smoking for 28 years and I wish I would have stopped when cigs did that to me. Everyone always starts off with just one here and there. I have been trying to quit for over 10 years with no luck. Do yourself a favor and kick them now! I speak from experience!

Nicotine is a stimulant like caffeine. So when it hits you bloodstream it has an effect on the digestive tract. It can stimulate stomach acid which would cause nausea. It can stimulate your lower digestive tract too (intestines) and can cause you to run to the bathroom.
