There are MILLIONS of people who have herpes who live in lesser developed countries and lesser privileged countries. They don't have the luxury of having medication like the U.S. does or to have a pharmacy on every street corner.
Herpes sores CAN go away without medication but it takes longer and is more painful and severe then if the person had medication for it.
If you can't get a prescription for some antiviral medication for some reason, then at least get some pain medication. You can buy some ibuprofen or advil which can help you with the pain and bring some of the swelling down.
Without the antiviral medication though, you just have to let the virus run its course. It can take several weeks for an outbreak to heal without medication.
Good luck!

Unfortunately there isn't but there is a few things you can do to lessen the chance
Outbreaks are believed to be caused a lot by stress so try and lead as stress-free a life as possible.
Any illness will increase the chance of an outbreak so keep your immune system in tip top shape. Try echinacea to give your system a boost.
An amino acid - L-Lysine - is also something you can take. This has shown to help those with herpes and cold sores.

I had herpes around four years back, when I was in college and had a spupid one-night affair. I suppose many of women will say this but I swear I never did that sort of thing. I jud made mistake that one time and, suddenly, it looked like I was going to have to live with it for the rest of my life. The awful part was thinking I could never date guys again. After all, who wants to go out with a girl who has sores around her you-know-what? But after a friend showed me this video https://tr.im/e6Bwx everything has changed. Not only was I able to get rid of all traces of the herpes virus from my body in less than fifteen days, but I was also able to start dating again. I even met my soulmate and I'm so blessed to say that just last week, in fornt of many people in a crowded restaurant, he got down on one knee and proposed to me!! This program gave me back the chance to be happy, and to experience true love.

Actually yes, there is! I found out I, had herpes 10yrs ago. Of course I was prescribed valtrex (or whatever herpes med that was given at the time) But never had another outbreak till last year. Since it had been SO long and I now see a different gyno I, was embarrassed. So, I wanted to try the natural method. I tried EVERYTHING......tea tree oil, warm salt baths, blow drying it, lol!! Basically everything I've read about in herpes forums. To get to my point...CARMEX WORKS!! Yes, the SAME carmex for cold sores! Something told me to give it a shot and I SWEAR it works!! There was no more discomfort, I could walk, sit, pee, LOL...WHATEVER with no discomfort what so ever AND it cleared up in 3-4 days!!! NO JOKE! I know it sounds nuts but, I promise you that s**t works GREAT! I got the kind that comes in, a squeeze tube and applied it with a q-tip....a generous amount about 2-3times a day. I hope you give this a shot and let me know how it works for you.....
P.S. for those who may not know herpes 1 & 2 are the SAME virus. the only difference is, one is on your mouth/nose area, and the other is on your genital area. Because of my research I, was able to find a "cold sore" treatment that works juat as well...if not better on genital herpes. YAAAAY CARMEX !! =)

Like the above-poster said, I've heard good things about L-Lysine supplements, and also cutting down on foods with argenine (like chocolate). Beyond that, and just getting a lot of sleep, along with a balance diet, there's not much you can do.
