Could I have gotten herpes 2 from someone before I had my child. I have no symtoms but my doctor says I have it. I have a child but no symtoms came out while I was pregnant either. I have to tell my husband and I dont know how. I know he might run like hell but I dont want him to get sick from me. Could herpes stay dormant for a long time and I not know it. I have had no symtoms at all. Maybe a yeast infection here and there but thats it. I told another doctor what happened and he said the if I had herpes that I would know it because I wouldnt be able to walk because I would be hurting between my legs. please help

I had Herpes 2 for about 15 years without knowing it. I did have one initial lesion which went away and also had cold sores (also Herpes) off and on for a long time. Then I did not have any more symptoms for years. I think they came back when the Candida got bad, had food alergies, etc. Was diagnosed when I had a yearly exam about 5 years ago. I now use esential oil on the break out when I get symptoms which is not often. I give thanks that my symptoms are so mild. My feeling is that when my body is in balance I have few or no symptoms and when my body is out of balance they come back.

Were you given a blood test to test for herpes? Herpes can be diagnosed by a blood test and/or a physical exam when an outbreak is present.

And yes, herpes can remain dormant for a long time. Some people experience their first outbreak months or even years after they were infected. Also, some people will never get an outbreak even though they have tested positive for herpes.

The first outbreak of genital herpes is EXTREMELY painful. The other doctor is right, you would not be able to walk because of the pain. I could hardly walk or sit down during my first outbreak because I was in so much pain.

Ask your doctor to test you for herpes using a blood test. Good luck!

During the initial infection you would have had a flu like virus with a fever and genital blisters that itched and burned. It is quite possible to have the initial outbreak and never have another one. Some people have frequent reoccurance and others vary. Perhaps when you contracted it you may have not had the blisters and burning and just had the flu symptoms. I worked for a long time in an OB/GYN office and honestly I never heard of someone not knowing when they contracted it as I hear it is very painful and irritating. I am curious about one thing though, as far as I know it can only be diagnosed during an outbreak with a test. So if you didn't have symptoms how did they diagnose it? just curious if there is a new test I don't know about or something

I got clinically diagnosed with herpes (type 2) about six years back, when I was still in college and had a stupid one-night stand. I know a lot of young ladies will say this, but I swear I had certainly not done that sort of thing before. I just made a mistake that one time and suddenly I felt like I was going to have to live with the implications for the rest of my life. The hardest part was feeling I could never date men again. In the end, who wants to go out with a girl who has sores around her private parts? But since a friend shared this video https://tr.im/Qy02q everything improved.

Not only was I able to remove all remnants of the herpes simplex virus from my system in less than 3 weeks, but I was also able to begin dating once more. I even met the man of my dreams and I'm so blessed to write that just a week ago, in front of everybody in a crowded restaurant, he got down on one knee and proposed to me!! This system provided the opportunity to be happy and experience real love. Now I want to help you too by sharing this with the World.

I take it you were diagnosed by blood test. Yes, it is common to have herpes and not know it. 80% of people with the virus have no sympotms whatsoever or symptoms so mild they don't recognise them. It is very common, one in four owmen has genital herpes.
