I'm turning 14 and I absolutely love snow so I'm having a snow-themed birthday party. The only thing is, it'll be around the beginning of october so there won't be any snow outside. Any ideas?

We went to a party recently where they rented a snow-cone machine. It's messy, but really fun.

Print the invitations on snow-themed stationary, then include some snow or silvery confetti in the envelope.

Ask everyone to bring snow themed gifts and wear white or snow-themed clothes.

You can do easy snowball cupcakes by icing the cupcakes with a white frosting and rolling the tops around in coconut.

Put out large bowls of white snacks, such as marshmallows, yogurt covered raisins, popcorn, cubed white chedder cheese, and white chocolate dipped pretzels.

Consider renting a chocolate fondue fountain or buying a cheap one, and using white chocolate in it instead of milk chocolate.

Have a snowflake making contest. Let everyone vote on the best one and give out a prize. I know someone who cuts great skulls with crossbones into paper snowflakes...can't figure out how he does it...

Have Christmas music or other winter themed music playing in the background.

Decorate with clear twinkle (Christmas) lights, use the window snow spray on the windows, hang a few posters of skiers, polar bears, or anything snowy on the walls, hang up the snowflakes everyone makes. You could take some plain styrofoam balls, coat them with a little glitter or leave them plain, and hang them everywhere for snowballs.

Have a TV playing a snow themed movie, preferably one about climbers stranded in the mountains who have to resort to caniballism or a silmilar snow disaster.

Ever been in a mummy wrapping contest? YOu could do that but call it a Snow-Man making contest. Divide into teams. Each team is given a roll of toilet paper and choses a "Snow Man". Start the game, and the team who uses the entire roll of toilet paper to wrap up their victim, er, teammate, up like a snowman wins.

Give cheap mittens filled with candy as party favors.

If you can find a 'Christmas Shop' or store they will be selling things all year around. You could get some fake snow to put around the place. Another idea is to go to an ice making company and get some frozen snow ice, or create your own by smashing to pieces the store boughten ice chunks. You could get a child's swimming pool (I suggest the hard plastic ones rather than the blow up ones) and fill it with them and play a game in the ice like bobbing for apples which will be in season in october only you are getting them with your mouth by digging through piles of crushed ice. Also for the effect of the white look, you can use those white popcorns that they use in packing. Those could be put into a large container or another childs swimming pool and then fill the pool with something small that people have to dig for. Make some rules that apply to the games like, if a popcorn gets out of the pool, they have to put one of something they have found back into the pool. Be sure your cake looks like a snowman or an igloo or something like a snow hill with skiiers or sledders on it. I do lots of cakes like that. For fun, everyone could have to come wearing a winter scarf and mittens and stocking cap or something like that. In october, the weather will be cool anyway most likely. You may not be able to make snow angels by laying in the snow but you could have some white paper around and have people make one behind their backs or something. If you have a really large basement and it is too cold or nasty weather out, you could convert your basement into the party place or even rent a party room somewhere. All these things can be done indoors too. Make some snow balls by taking white yarn and making some very big pom poms that you can use to play a snow ball fight with. Or, go to your local craft store like Michaels or Hobby Lobby and in their craft bins where the hard white styrofoam is kept for making crafts. You will find styrofoam balls of many different sizes. Just like real snowballs. Have a snowball fight with those. They are so light weight that they couldn't hurt anyone. Since Ice always plays a part of winter, you can make some very big ice cubes, like from the bottom of plastic glasses. Then the glasses can be torn away from the cubes or soaked in hot water briefly to dislodge the big cube. Play some games with those like timing how long someone can hold it on the palm of their hand before it gets too cold or play a relay game by carrying them on a white plastic teaspoon which would be difficult for sure when you were racing in a relay. You can do that one in teams. I'm sure all your prizes can be found in the dollar shops and could be white, what ever they were. Hope that give you some ideas. Just think winter and snow and what is usually done during that season and then improvise it.

For starters, when doing the invitations, make sure you mention to bring a change of clothes. The parents will thank you later!

For the food, it all needs to be cool treats, such as frozen chocolate covered bannanas, finger sandwiches, etc. Top it off with ice cream cake or cake and ice cream.

Now here comes the fun...SNOWBALL FIGHT! No, this is not real snow. This is where early preparation comes in. Take pantyhose, preferably white, and cut into sections. Tie one end of it and fill with flour, then tie the other end, there you have your snowball! Have 2 "bases" set up on seperate ends of the yard, have the snowballs in a bucket or container and fire away. Warning: This does get very messy but it's fun!!

Another idea is to go to a local ice skating rink... It's a winter atmosphere and usually opened year round! Skating parties are always fun.

Have everyone dress all in white for starters. Fill bowls with plain styrofoam balls (you can use them to throw at each other if you have the space). All decorations in white with silver accents.

How approximately calendars for the up coming one year? you ought to purchase the bridesmaids pretend fur shrugs or muffs (the subject you shove your hand into) so as that they do no longer freeze for the period of your outdoors ceremony.
