There is no cure for asthma. It can be managed.

A pulmonary function test can help diagnosis asthma but your history of asthma attacks per week will determine the severity.

An allergist is a better doctor to deal with asthma then a pulmonolgist.

The best non medication treatment for asthma is to learn your asthma triggers and avoid them. If you can't avoid them you will need a prescription medication to help control symptoms.

There's no cure from asthma; Some people outgrow it or if you take your medication daily then you should not have frequent attacks. Your Dr. should have prescribed medication to control your asthma (advair, flovent etc...) and then the fast acting emergency inhaler often proventil. Also stay away from things and food that may trigger your asthma like humid weather, pollen, dust, shellfish, bleach, pickles, peanut butter, milk, dairy, french fries/potatoes (the starch)...These are some things that trigger asthma..In the summer try to stay in air conditioning; winter keep your mouth covered; get a cool midst humidifier to keep next to your bed at night to help u sleep. In the spring if driving try to keep your windows up, in the house as well. Oh yes cats also trigger your asthma but for some reason dogs do not...if you have more questions email me. I am an expert because I live with it.

You don't "cure" it - there's no such thing. Your goal is to keep it maintained so there are few to no flare ups. Any doctor (especially a chiropractor) who claims to be able to cure asthma should be sued for false advertising.

Someone who is asthmatic needs to be evaluated by a pulmonolgist - they specialize in lungs. They should do some tests, including a Pulmonary Function Test to determine how severe the asthma is. Then a regimen of medications will be prescribed - most are inhaled, some are pills. You should also be aware of your triggers (for some it's cold, some it's foods, for me - it's allergy season and humidity) and try to avoid them. A compliant patient who takes their medications as directed and seeks help when they need it should be relatively symptom-free.

There is no cure for asthma. Sometime you grow out of it, but if not than there is nothing you can do except use medications like albuterol or steroid inhalers for day to day use. Also staying away from the cold and dusty atmospheres can cut down on attacks.

i don't know of any cures but to care for it my doctor gave me advair and i use albuterol. that works pretty well. the good thing about advair is that it increases your lung capacity.
