The average household in America consumes 10,656 kilowatt-hours (kWh) per year, according to the Department of Energy. Dividing that by 365 gives about 29. But that is just an average. I use more, especially in summer when my air conditioner is running a lot.

And you know if you are doing research you should try google. All I did was google "average american home electric use" and take the first hit.

Average annual household consumption (U.S.) = 10,656 kWh

http://216.109.125.130/search/cache?ei=UTF-8&p=average+american+home+energy+consumption+kW&y=Search&fr=yfp-t-501&u=www.awea.org/newsroom/Wind_Energy_Basics.pdf&w=average+american+home+homes+energy+consumption+kw&d=ABmuvOljPK8o&icp=1&.intl=us

Divide that by the number of days per year (10,656/365)

So it's right around 30 kWh (kilawatt-hours) per day. My house is more like 9 kWh/day.

I use between 7-9 kWh/day.

I would say my house is fairly typical, and my average monthly electricity consumption ins 1000kWh. Using a value of 720 hours/month this gives 1.39 kW per month of 0.046 kW per day. Every one else answered in terms pf kWh per day, but you asked about kW. They are two different things.
