Could I get an event catered for £5.00 per head? I have no idea and I don't want to be taken advantage of by some crooked catering company. Any advice is welcome.
It is for a group of animal rights activists. We are participating in a PETA function next weekend and they have put me of getting a caterer. There will be about 15 of us (I hope).

KitKat, your response was rude and disruptive and you have been reported. Do not answer anymore of my questions or I will request that Yahoo remove your account and that your ISP suspend your internet service.

jellbz, it is quite obvious you are jealous of my b/f. Otherwise you would not be replying to my questions with such hate and bitterness. You have been reported.

Common sense should tell you that prices depend on the dishes ordered and what company you choose to cater. Common sense would also tell you that professional caterers have price lists readily available and in general, the catering field is not known to be crooked. Pick up the phone.

I find no reason for you to report ' kitkat '. She told you the truth. The people in the catering business are not out to take advantage of people. Your cost totally depends on what you wish to serve.

honestly for $5 per head I dont think you are going to get very good food, or much.. I would used the cash to maybe make a huge chickpea curry and rice (cheap) and serve that in small bowls along with fresh veg sticks and hommus, and maybe throw in plate of marinated mushrooms and tofu, and a fresh fruit platter to finish with.. see if any friends or family will pitch in and help serve the meals.. oohh or even portabello mushroom burgers.. yummo!

Yes you should be able to find a caterer who will provide a buffet for £5 per head. Obviously you won't get smoked salmon and caviar for that price, but they should be able to provide a reasonable spread. Look in your local paper, there are often small companies who will be glad to assist you.

Hi
I would think this would be difficult for you because as animal rights activists you would not want the cheep farmed chicken, or the mass produced pork, or the over fished fish, or the testosterone beefed up beef, and those poor turkeys, that are to fat to walk. It's a puzzler isn't it?

You will need to get estimates but you could probably swing your budget. If you have 15 people you dont have to have 15 of each item. Talk to your cater and make surethey understand your need and budget.

It may be possible, but remember that vegan and veggie food, which you would serve, can get quite expensive.
