Regular cake is the logical answer. Ice cream cake only works if you are in the mood for cake and ice cream at the same time. What if you want cake but no ice cream? Also, if you want ice cream cake but only have regular cake just add a few scoops of ice cream. The system works!

If this is for a birthday party where everyone is going to chow down on the cake like nothing else in the world, my advice would be to go with the ice cream cake. if it more for like a formal event, the i would go with a simple chocolate cake with a little spazz! Add like strawberries on top or cream cheese icing, sprinkle a little powdered sugar to give it the aged effect one way or another a regular cake can be just as impressive as an ice cream cake. and it definitely won't cost an arm an a leg.

You gotta be kidding. Who would eat a simple chocolate cake when you could have all that fattening , cavity making fudge chocolate and ice cream. Get rid of the vanilla though and add more chocolate.

I know you don't believe this but I am a chocoholic. Do you deliver?

Hope my keyboard doesn't short out from my drooling.

Ice-cream cake for sure! Regular cake gets really dry once you're past the icing, and anyway, the flavoring is always more pronounced in ice-cream than it is in regular cake batter.

it depends if it's a kids party they always want both so the ice cream cake would be the easiest. One cut and you're done. I personally don't like the ice cream cakes because the cake gets hard. So if you're just wanting our opinion- mine would be if you want it for taste then just the simple chocolate cake- if it's for kids I would choose the ice cream cake just because it is a lot easier. Good luck!
