The ONLY way you could get HIV by using a needle is if it was used before on someone who has HIV/AIDS.
If it has NEVER been used to pierce anyone else then you can NOT get HIV.
However, it's not really a good idea to do it yourself or have someone else pierce you with a needle at home. It really should be done by a professional. A professional has the right needles and the right environment (sterilization, cleanliness, etc). Piercing at home can cause an infection if the needle is not cleaned correctly or the piercer's hands are not clean.
Also, do NOT use a piercing gun. They are HORRIBLE. Brute force is used to drive the jewelry through tissue, causing far more trauma which could lead to extended healing times.
Good luck!

1. You should not pierce your ears or any part of your body with a sewing needle, or in fact go to some piercing place in a mall that uses a piercing gun. Both are very dangerous and can cause infection, but not AIDS. You should go to a tattoo shop that does body piercing too. They can do the best job piercing your ears.
2. You can not get AIDS from piercing your ears with a sewing needle. Unless there are bodily fluids on it.

Nope. But you are going to want to take a lighter and put the needle into the flame for at least 10 seconds to kill any germs. I pierced my own ears five times on each side. Best way to do it is to take an ice cube to numb the ear, purify the needle with fire.... then you cut a potato in half and put the potato behind your ear to hold the ear in place so it takes a lot less effort to push the needle through.

If the needle has not come into contact with the HIV or AIDS, you have no danger of contracting either one. Piercing your ear in this manner, however, can result in a nasty infection if you are not careful. Please save your money and have it done by a pro.

the needle would have had to be exposed to aids. only sterile needles should be used for piercing though. other bacteria and viruses could cause infection

HIV, the virus that causes AIDS can only be contracted through blood, semen, vaginal fluids. so, no you can't. just clean the needle with rubbing alcohol first. that's how my ears were pierced when i was 4.

No, but you could get another type of infection quite easily.
It is much safer to get it done by a professional. You don't want to end up with scarring, pus and/or tetanus.
