I really like the taste of it, but I was told it had a naturally occuring MSG. It is vegan as far as I know and I have emailed the company asking if had any animal byproducts in it and they said no.

Does anyone have anything to share about this soy product?

What exactly is it you want to know? it sounds like you already got all the information you need to make your decision...
If you like it and it hasn't any animal products... go ahead and eat it... just make sure that you use a ceramic knife to mix it with, you know how dangerous those metal ones can be....

Braggs Liquid Aminos Wiki

I love Bragg's Liquid Aminos and have been using it for years. My husband likes the taste better than soy sauce and it is similar enough that I use it as a substitute. I also use it in recipes that call for Worchestershire sauce. Sodium content of typical soy sauce is 343 mg per teaspoon. Bragg's is still high at 220 mg per teaspoon, but an improvement. And there is no carmel color or sodium benzoate. No wheat, for those who might be allergic. Keeps for a year in the cabinet without refrigeration. Bragg's seasoning is good in scrambled eggs (1 teaspoon per 3 eggs and add no salt). I put a teaspoon on stir fry while at the steaming stage. Add to soups instead of boullion, especially if serving vegetarians. Gives color and flavor to rice dishes and tofu. I just use it in any place where moisture and salt are desired.

I've asked the same sorts of questions about it.
It's a mysterious product.
It does taste really good -- best soy sauce I've ever tired.
On the other hand, what the hell is it?
In Canada they've forced them to alter their very weird labels which use to say something like Bragg Liquid Aminos. What the hell is that?? Now it says "All Purpose Seasoning - liquid soy, from vegetable protein". What the hell does that mean? See wikipedia: "Authentic soy sauces are made from whole soybeans, but many cheaper brands are made from hydrolysed soy protein instead." So, is bragg made from the beans, or from an extract or something...?? I think the label needs to be changed again -- it's still too cryptic and misleading. Apparently it's been around since 1912. It also says, "delicious gourmet alternative to tamari-soy sauce". Why specifically Tamari soy sauce?

The ingredients say "soybeans and water" but it tastes very salty for just beans and water. Sea water?? You can't use that. "Contains no preservatives, no colouring agents, no additives, no alcohol, no chemicals. This product is not fermented."

Really weird, because soy sauce is a fermented product, yet their soy sauce is not.

It's all very weird and I want to KNOW all about it.

EDIT:
found this... it doesn't look good...

EDIT#2:
Hm, lots of talk about MSG or similar substance being in Bragg, but I've used it and I have never tasted nor had any of the effects of consuming MSG in other products or at restaurants. Perhaps the quantities are very small, but there is MSG in sea weed too in very small quantities, naturally. So, I'm not worried about the MSG content. What else is supposedly bad about it...

MSG is naturally found in many foods. It is also isolated & used as a flavor enhancer. It works by making tastebuds more receptive to flavor stimuli.

MSG "...is a sodium salt of glutamic acid.*" Glutamic acid is one of the amino acids in Bragg's Liquid Aminos.**

If you are concerned about it, ask the company directly about the amount/presence of MSG.

Some people claim MSG gives them headaches. Many doctors dismiss this.

Personally, I like Bragg's Liquid Aminos & use it sparingly since it has a salty taste. Since I don't use a lot, I don't worry about the possibility of MSG. I also don't worry because MSG occurs naturally in other whole foods and I avoid processed foods that have isolated MSG added as a flavor enhancer most of the time. Lastly, it doesn't seem to contain added MSG. http://www.bragg.com/FAQ/faq_aminos.html

I just know that the cookbook author Sarah Kramer loves the stuff - It is everywhere in How it All Vegan, Garden of Vegan and La Dolce Vegan.

I use it to make this kick butt salad dressing:

1/8 cup Bragg's
1 tsp dijon mustard
1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
3 cloves garlic
pinch of black pepper
2 tablespoons fresh herbs (basil, oregano, mint, etc... or a combination of whatever you wish)
1/2 cup extra-virgin olive oil

Blend in blender and put on your salad!
