I certainly wasn't a troll, asking those stupid questions. I did, however, have a generally bad impression of vegans- I thought they were all joyless, confrontational hemp-wearing dirty hippies who were just too emotional. And that they listened to lame music.
And then I met a cool vegan. And then I BECAME a cool vegan. Ahahaha.

I'm not vegan, as I still do occasional dairy. From the time that I first realized that some ppl were vegetarians, I admired them & wished that I "knew how" to do this-- I'd been so brainwashed during childhood that I thought it would be difficult & dangerous, if not impossible, to stop eating meat. Eventually I found enough information to let me know that it wasn't only possible, but not difficult, to be veg.
My SO, on the other paw, used to look down on vegetarians & think we were flaky fanatics who probably belonged to some sort of cult. He's been vegetarian for almost 9 years now ;-)

When I first became vegetarian lacto ovo I used to tell people that I would never go vegan because I did not want to become preachy. Actually it was some of the over-the-top merchandise that I had seen people wear or stick on their cars that made me feel that way. Things like: "heart attacks, god's revenge for people eating animals", " ****carnivores", "vegan because I'm cooler than you". A couple of years later I got over that stuff because I realized that it's a matter of life and death for the other animals. I can be the type of vegan and activists that I want to be.

I'm not a vegan, I'm a vegetarian, but when I did eat meat, I never once hated vegans and vegetarians. My dad has been a vegetarian all his life and I never thought there was anything wrong with that. I guess that made it easier for me to become a vegetarian.

I don't know if I was really anti-veg*an, as much as I was an obnoxious omnivore who once liked eating meat. But long story short, my body started refusing to accept some of the meat I ate, so I decided to go veg. I never expected I would go vegan until I read about the dairy-veal connection.
I'm kind of ashamed that I didn't go veg earlier, but I was seriously blocked, as Carol J. Adams would say.

I once dated, and almost married a vegetarian, before I became vegetarian. I would call her a hypocrite for wearing leather, in hopes of her seeing the light and returning to eating meat again, to make my life easier. She would not enter the steakhouses with me, and would often not join my friends and I for dinner. She never did return to eating meat.
About two years after we stopped seeing each other, we met again. She and I were both vegetarian, and glad we stopped seeing each other. About a year after that chance meeting she called me because she heard I was a vegan.
After all the crap I gave her, in hopes of having her adopt my lifestyle, I adopted hers and went further than she ever would have. Maybe it was her inability to commit to anything that I didn't like.

No I have always been opened minded about both views. Its a personal choice and I do not get upset if you are not a vegan and I don't preach so you will be..Its just my own personal choice.

Yup, made the vegge to vegan transition 2 weeks ago but 4 months ago i was like all the haters with weak and false arguements like, "we're evolved to eat meat" and "vegans aren't healthy"
Then one day i was on youtube surfing the vlogs and someone incidentaly passed comment on how much food we waste feeding our food and then i started e-mailing a youtube vegan with questions, she made me read "the ethics of what we eat" then someone put me onto the film "earthlings" and i was gone!!!

I can't say I was ever anti-vegan, but I was very ignorant about animal cruelty and how unhealthy it is to eat animals. I use to say ignorant things like, "the animals are here for us to eat and that is why God made them." or "Who cares if they are abused they are going to die anyway.." It makes me cringe when I think about it. I mourned for 3 weeks with many bouts of tears after I found out the truth about the animal cruelty that goes on in slaughterhouses and that every time I ate or purchased animal products I was directly responsible for that suffering. I still can't read or think about their suffering without crying. I will never purchase or partake of animal products again.... I can't soil my conscience that way any more.

I'm not a vegan... nor a vegetarian.
I do love Amy's frozen dinners though... those things are fantastic.
Anyway, you are more than welcome to eat whatever you want.
But what *I* can't stand is vegetarians that call me a murderer because I happen to enjoy my cheeseburgers.
I have never said anything against vegetarians/vegans in my LIFE. I like my veggies too.
Just don't shove your beliefs down my throat. This is the easiest way to alienate people.
