I HAVE TO WRITE A ESSAY BASED ON PEOPLE WITH HIV/AIDS AND HOW IT IMPACTS THEM AND THEIR LIVES. I HAVE TO THINK ABOUT: Abstinence. Sex. Condoms. Drugs. Monogamy. HIV. Alcohol. Parties. Regrets. Risks. Responsibilities. Choices. Pressures. Down-Low. Boyfriends. Girlfriends. AIDS. The Future. All the risks you take. All the ones you don't. Should you or shouldn't you? Did you or didn't you? You have a story. Real life or fiction. Write it down. Send it in. Your story must be about HIV or AIDS.
The characters in your story must be impacted in some way by HIV or AIDS. THIS IS A COLLEGE ESSAY. I WANT TO LEARN ABOUT THIS FIRST HAND. FROM A PERSONAL EXPERINCE. IT HAS TO BE 5 PAGES LONG. THIS ESSAY IS DUE DECEMBER 1ST,2007.

CAN ANYONE PLEASE HELP ME?

I would suggest calling your local AIDS Service Organization and ask to speak to someone who provides direct support to people living with HIV/AIDS. S/he may be able to connect you with someone (possibly over the phone) who would be willing to share their stories. Just be sure to speak with the staff member and ask them what questions would be inappropriate.

There are also a few good books you can read.
One is
"The Guide to Living with HIV Infection by John G. Bartlett and Ann K. Finkbeiner (Johns Hopkins AIDS Clinic). It addresses the medical and psychosocial issues involved.

I would try and read up and do some research BEFORE you speak with a person living with HIV/AIDS to make sure they do not have to educate you about the basics of infection and so that you can ask more focussed questions. Maybe attend the AIDS Service Organizations HIV/AIDS 101.

Hope this helps

I'm a little concerned about you methodology. This is a site primarily for entertainment and it would be diffucult to verify the user's stories, plus you know the kind of jokers you get here sometimes.... I'd follow the advice of othes and use your local services.

I'd also reccomend the movie "Kids" (director Harmony Corrine, starring Cloe Sevigny... really upsetting but also thought provoking).
