I agree with nature_chic. It's Wyoming near Jackson Hole. The Teton Wilderness or the Gros Ventre Wilderness areas are just amazing. No matter where you go the views and the natural geography is awesome! The trails are marked well and in some areas you are right on the Continental divide. Get a map at the visitors center and give it a try. You won't regret it.

Crater Lake National Park, hands down! The most beautiful place I have ever been. And, of all the places I've been camping that have allowed a clear night sky to look at during the nighttime, Crater Lake was where I saw the most stars. I would highly recommend visiting there some time.

My previous standby has constantly been Frontenac Provincial Park, north of Kingston Ontario Canada. an incredible indoors park with some great hikes, sturdy paddling, and great web pages for overnights. no longer something considerable, purely great for a weekend jaunt (like I purely did this previous one!) In England, i've got gotta say the Lakes District is wonderful. each and all the hills around Keswick are incredible for trekking. i might like to return some day. In Scotland, you have gotta bypass to the Highlands. Ben Nevis is often beckoning. an staggering walk (which will nicely be problematic too)

I have a pair of favorites. I like camping in the Ozark Mountains in North Arkansas and I like camping on Lake Ouachita in central Arkansas. They are both beautiful.

Along the Little Susitna River in Alaska. About 80 miles north of Anchorage by road. You need a 4-wheeler or a boat or aircraft drop off to do it right. Fishing, Hunting, hiking, critters.
