Most monitors today have a memory to record past readings, but other than that there is no reason that you can't use one monitor for 2 people. Just keep track of readings for each person in a seperate place. I do like my One Touch Ultra, don't know if it's the best, haven't tried any others and no you cannot use the strips a second time. If you don't get enough of a sample or for some other reason you don't get a reading, you must use a new strip to test again.

I ALWAYS carry my meter with me, so unless those two people are together all the time, I would recommend separate meters. They are incredibly cheap (at least here in the States, my meter costs $20), but the strips is where you spend your money. However you would spend the same amount on strips whether you have one or two meters, so that doesn't matter.
Also, you can buy another lancing device (for the needles) pretty cheap, so if you do decide to stick to one meter, each person can have their own.
No, you cannot reuse test strips! You have to use a new one if you mess up the first time.
And since there are diabetics all over the world, I'm sure you can get strips in India.
I think the One Touch brand is awesome - I've tried a couple others as well, but it's my favorite!

yeah you would want 2 machines , because they wont always be at the same place at the same time, and you would have to change the poker needle every time and that will eventuly cost more money and its just easier that way. once a strip is used (doesnt have to work) its no good anymore. yeah thats a good machine uses less blood..
and in india... i dont know call the 1800 number or just stock up before your trip
