What's wrong with dairy?

1) Cows' milk is for baby cows, not for humans.
2) Like every other mammal, cows have to be pregnant to produce milk. Male calves are sent off to the veal crates. The veal thing is a big reason I went vegan within months of going veg.
3) Cows are pumped full of hormones and antibiotics. They develop an infection called mastitis. There may well be pus in your milk.
4) Dairy cows are sent to slaughter when milk production declines, usually when they are four or five.

For more reasons you should avoid eggs, check out www.cok.net. But did you know baby male layer chicks are killed at birth because they don't grow big enough or fast enough to be profitable as meat? They're thrown into trash bags to suffocate or ground alive. Hens used for their eggs are also killed before two years of age, when their production has declined. Their bodies are so battered that they're probably used only for cheap low-quality pot pies and fats-and-fillers nuggets.

So eventually, yeah, the animals who are kept for dairy and eggs are killed.

Im not strict vegetarian though if given the choice i will always choose vegan food over vegetarian and its incredibly rare for me to ever make myself anything non-vegan.

there are many health issues regarding animal by-products.

If i had to choose one for survival i would rather eat an animal than eat its off products.

i havent been vegetarian for half as long as ive abstained from cheese and milk.

milk is mostly saturated fat. i cant think of anything that would be worse for you than drinking a glass of saturated fat, aside from a specific poison.

even after that most products that take the 'fat' or 'sugar' out of something use some kind of nasty convoluted processing or nasty chemical replacement.

Humans were never meant to suck on a cows udder, its for baby cows to do. I could understand eating a cow even though i choose not to, but sucking on a cows udder is just ridiculous.

Why would you NEED to "get: them. They choose to eat the way they do for whatever reasons, the same as you. It doesnt matter if you understand or support their choices, but its as narrow minded of you to question what or how others eat, the same way I am sure you are judged by meat eaters. Eating is a personal matter, and needs no validation from others. Thats like judging someone because they dont like the taste of ketchup or mustard. Who cares? Eat what you want, and let others do the same. I do know that many go vegan because milk cows are treated as poorly, if not worse than meat cattle, and commercial milk contains nasty things such as growth hormones, steroids, antibiotics, etc., as does the cheese, yogurt and other stuff made from commercial milk. Most cheese contains rennet or "enzymes" that come from the 4th stomach of slaughtered veal calves. Commercial eggs come from chickens kept in even worse conditions than chickens raised for meat, and most hens are force molted to lay more eggs than they should. Dont question others reasons until you have done your own homework, would be my suggestion.

from a health standpoint: everything about dairy products is unhealthy! it's loaded with saturated fats, cholesterol, pus, urine, feces, and all these other yucky things you would not consume.

from an animal standpoint: animals suffer when we take their eggs and milk. chickens are crammed into very small cages and are forced to endure horrible living conditions so the farmer can obtain its eggs the cheapest way possible for the biggest buck. cows are artificially inseminated so they can keep lactating. shortly after the calf is born, it is taken away from its mother... and we all know what happens to that calf. cow's milk is made for its own kind... not to feed us humans. milk is nature's perfect food only when a baby is growing up and drinking his mother's breast milk.

read "diet for a new america" by john robbins... and maybe you too will become a vegan.

best wishes :o)

first of all hen and different animals DO have thoughts and a suggestions. even however its no longer comparable to ours its nevertheless there. Its no longer the reality that we purely kill and consume them its the reality that they are actually being bred in factories in no way seeming the gentle of day the place they get their breaks decrease off so they do no longer %. one yet another to dying because of the fact they are so crowded. Its no longer purely homicide, its torture! i do no longer have confidence in "animal rights" that sounds like they are getting the the main suitable option to vote or some thing, I do despite if have confidence in animal welfare. flora have not got a suggestions nor do they sense soreness. sure they seem to be a residing element, yet they produce issues like fruit etc for animals to consume to extra beneficial unfold their seed. flora are no longer tortured before we consume them. i'm no longer plenty against ingesting meat, however the way its completed now days. I surely have a plenty diverse understand for a fisherman or hunter. as well being vegan isn't purely extra healthy for my physique its extra useful for the planet. i in my opinion do no longer think of we are meant to consume each and all of the animal products people do each and daily. Why do you think of heart ailment is one in all those enormous killer now? weight problems?

See these sites for lots of info:

Eggs:

Dairy:
http://goveg.com/factoryFarming_Cows_Dairy.asp

Basically, egg-laying chickens are so intensively confined that they can't even spread their wings.. their beaks are seared off with a hot blade (and no painkillers) so that they won't peck each other to death, which happens in stressful conditions... they are denied all of their natural behaviors and turned into meat when their egg production rates decline. Cows are also killed when they stop producing so much milk, and the male cows are don't produce any milk so they're turned into veal.

I'm not a vegan myself, but they are concerned with the heath issues regarding milk and cheese (increased osteoporosis and kidney stones as well as fat), and the welfare of the animals involved, as egg hens still get about six inches of space their entire lives, and are still slaughtered when they can no longer produce eggs (and they produce far more than they normally would).

wellim not vegan but i know a lot of them, for one with milk products they pump the cows with hormones to make them continue producing milk and thats all there life is eat, get milked...........and with eggs even though there not fertilized, its that concept of using and abusing animals, but for anyone who chooses to be vegan they have considered the hormones/bleached eggs, and, or they just doent like it, like how some people doent like fish, or raisens, it just tastes funky to them.

milk is filled with fat and hormones from cows and lots of other stuff that isn't good for the body..do re-search on it and you will understand. plus, cow's milk is for baby cows!
eggs are just plain gross and packed with cholesterol.
cheese is overly processed, very fattening and nasty
anything that comes from an animal grosses me out.
it's simple.
