Yes it is possible if the stroke was small. Let me clarify some of the answers. A transient ischemic attack or TIA and a reversible ischemic neurologic deficit or RIND are NOT strokes. They produce stroke-like symptoms but not actual damage. They do increase the likelihood of future strokes. TIAs and RINDs are similar to a person who has chest pain but does not have a heart attack. It is unusual for a person to be in a hospital for 2 weeks due to a stroke so I assume there must be more to the story. Early and aggressive rehabilitation is critical for stroke victims. I am truly sorry to hear about your grandfather and wish him a full and speedy recovery and God's blessing to your family.

Yes, these are called TIA's . TIA stands for Transient Ischemic Attacks.

Transient Ischemic Attack (TIA)

What is a TIA or transient ischemic attack?

A TIA is a "warning stroke" or "mini-stroke" that produces stroke-like symptoms but no lasting damage. Recognizing and treating TIAs can reduce your risk of a major stroke.

Most strokes aren't preceded by TIAs. However, of the people who've had one or more TIAs, more than a third will later have a stroke. In fact, a person who's had one or more TIAs is more likely to have a stroke than someone of the same age and sex who hasn't.

TIAs are important in predicting if a stroke will occur rather than when one will happen. They can occur days, weeks or even months before a major stroke. In about half the cases, the stroke occurs within one year of the TIA.

What causes a transient ischemic attack?

TIAs occur when a blood clot temporarily clogs an artery, and part of the brain doesn't get the blood it needs. The symptoms occur rapidly and last a relatively short time. Most TIAs last less than five minutes. The average is about a minute. Unlike stroke, when a TIA is over, there's no injury to the brain.

What are the symptoms of a TIA?

It's very important to recognize the warning signs of a TIA or stroke. The usual TIA symptoms are the same as those of stroke, only temporary:

Sudden numbness or weakness of the face, arm or leg, especially on one side of the body
Sudden confusion, trouble speaking or understanding
Sudden trouble seeing in one or both eyes
Sudden trouble walking, dizziness, loss of balance or coordination
Sudden, severe headache with no known cause
The short duration of these symptoms and lack of permanent brain injury is the main difference between TIA and stroke.

TIAs are extremely important predictors of stroke. Don't ignore them! If symptoms appear, CALL 9-1-1 TO GET MEDICAL HELP IMMEDIATELY. A doctor should determine if a TIA or stroke has occurred, or if it's another medical problem with similar symptoms. Some examples are seizure, fainting, migraine headache, or general medical or cardiac condition. Prompt medical or surgical attention to these symptoms could prevent a fatal or disabling stroke from occurring.

For stroke information, call the American Stroke Association at 1-888-4-STROKE.

using powerband, 2 strokes, in my opinion are greater relaxing tocontinual, yet, you need to finally end up going speedier on the RMz. the rmz is a torque-y bike and the YZ is screamin efficient 2 stroke. if its relaxing and velocity, study a thank you to experience the two stroke to its finished ability. 2 strokes desire greater in many cases maintenance, yet each now after which you will might desire to alter the piston in a 4 stroke and replace the valves.. and thats costly! YZ 250 appropriate end kit is barely approximately a hundred and fifty with gaskets and all. in case you like rapid.. (many human beings might call me loopy for suggesting this) get a cr500. .... interior the tip the rmz could be speedier yet its additionally a count of opinion and making use of style that should impression your lap cases a lot. if so, i could circulate with the YZ250. in the journey that your no longer constrained by potential of the displacement (ie one hundred twenty five, 250 or open classification) get the YZ and in case you like greater velocity you will get a large bore 285cc kit which will extremely make the bike fly. despite the fact that, there are greater zippy 4 strokes than the rmz in my opinion. The CRF450 packs a appropriate end punch to be envied. yet restricting it to the motorcycles you have displayed, i could take the YZ.

Yes it is. The bad thing is, the only way to tell is by running some tests. And he will need to be watched closely, lots of times when you have one stroke you are more likely to have another one. A stroke is when a blockage breaks apart and moves to the heart. More of that blockage could start breaking apart, causing mini strokes or a big one. I'm sorry, I don't mean to scare you, but it is a real possibility.

Absolutely. My dad got dizzy one night and sort of sat down hard in his chair. Dr. said he had a mild stroke. It didn't affect his motor skills, but his short term memory is gone.
