Hi..I am sorry for you.
My mother in law and 2of my friends have diabetes.
The doctor must have given you some advise but I will tell you some things too because I have contact with diabetic people.

Every thing you eat or buy check the labels : avoid the fatty(fried) and sugary foods, fizzy drinks.
when you check the labels look at the part where it says ''Carbohydrates, of which sugar''.
Carbs and fibre are very good for you because they release energy slowly but if the sugar is high is damaging.
If you eat fruits and vegetables and drink plenty of water your body will take its own sugar so you don't need any sweet things.
Also if your food is high in saturates fats you risk having high cholesterol.

If you think is hard doing exercise or you don't like doing it alone do some dancing.
You lose weight, enjoy yourself and keep yourself healthy.
Half an hour of dancing every day should do the trick.
Also when you need to go somewhere try walking or go 15 min walking every evening.

I wish you all the best in the future.

Boy people can surely be mean, huh?
I have a couple questions for you. Do you want to have diabetes? Do you want to lose a little weight? Are you afraid? Are you feeling out of control?
You did not get diabetes overnight. It is caused by months and months of inactivity and poor choices of food. If you have been diagnosed by a doctor, she told you what you must do to deal with your illness.
You are not immune from the laws of nature. You have to eat, you have to exercise you have to rest, you have to dream, you have to poop, and die--eventually-- just like the rest of us.
This is not a bad thing. This is THE THING! called life.
While you are doing all these things, you also get to see a sunset, hear children laughing, marry a cute guy, ride horses, fly planes, and watch your grandchildren get married.
YOu can do ALL that fat or thin. You will probably have more fun thinner, because you will have more opportunities to meet people, and do things. You may even live longer.
The PRICE YOU PAY for what you want is this: you must watch your weight, exercise, take care of yourself, and make other good life choices.
If you don't want to take care of yourself, if you want to indulge every little whim, and lay around feeling sorry for yourself, you will be fat, unhealthy, and more than likely alone a lot.
I hate that that is true, but there it is.
You cannot change other people. YOU CAN change you.
Even at 15, you can make a pact not to eat any more sugar, honey or things that end in "trose". Not one. Not for any reason.
You can be really serious and careful. You don't even have to tell anyone about it. Just say "No thanks."
You can decide starting today you are not going to bed until you have walked around the block. Or 3-4 or more.
You can go swimming. or play miniature golf instead of going to the movies and sitting. Buy a yoga tape and learn at home. Walk all over the mall. Don't eat anything at the mall AT ALL!
If your family is fat, they will resist helping you. You might try asking them to give you a cheap gym membership for a birthday present or something. Or dumb=bells.
It is difficult, but do-able to lose weight-to exercise and to feel like a kid again.
No one can do it for you. You did this to yourself and YOU can undo it.
The longer you put it off, the harder it will be to start. Start now.
Good luck, hon.

The first goal in getting you to a more healthy weight should actually not be weight loss. Instead, my usual recommendation is for you to just stop gaining weight, and then, as you get taller, you can 'grow into' your weight. This is normally for children who are just overweight not those who have been diagnosed as being clinically obese with complications.

if you are clinically obese with complications I would normally try to get you to achieve the more realistic goal which is initially also not to gain weight.

Once you have reached the stage were you are not gaining weight, we now move towards losing weight about 1-2lbs per week, especially if you say you are very overweight, in which case you will may need to restrict your calories somewhat under the guidance of a Registered Dietician or your Pediatrician this should have already been implemented after your diagnosis. (see the_only_solorose answer)

You could loose weight faster but please do not be tempted as the bodies Homeostasis control functions will kick in as it thinks you are trying to kill it.

Homeostasis is very important because when it fails you become ill and you may die. It is also why many diets fail. You may think you are in control but you body has other ideas. All we can do is to keep it guessing,

How about exercise?
Regular exercise is important for everyone, but especially if you have diabetes. Regular exercise helps control the amount of glucose in the blood. It also helps burn excess calories and fat so you can manage your weight.
Exercise improves overall health by improving blood flow and blood pressure. It decreases insulin resistance even without weight loss. Exercise also increases the body's energy level, lowers tension, and improves your ability to handle stress.

The following should be considered when starting an exercise routine:

• Check with your health care provider/GP before starting an exercise program.
• Choose an enjoyable physical activity that is appropriate for the current fitness level.
• Exercise every day, and at the same time of day, if possible.
• Monitor blood glucose levels at home before and after exercise.
• Changes in exercise intensity or duration may require modification of your diet or medication to keep blood glucose levels in an appropriate range.

Please remember it took time to get where you are today. Please do not expect to change everything overnight it just will not happen. Take it slow take it easy and when you weight is where it should be and your diabetes is under control your quality of life will be greatly enhanced. Best of Luck….

I am sorry for all the rude remarks you have received. Some people just don't understand.

It is hard not to join in with your friends when they have pizza and french fries.Try to have smaller portions.Eat lots of veggies and a few fruits. Can you bring your own lunch to school ? Make a big salad every day and add maybe a fruit or yogurt .Drink lots of water and sugar free beverages.

Get as much exercise as possible. Just walking will help.

I wish you the very best.

The only person who can help you is yourself! If you don't want to to inject yourself with insulin then start taking care of yourself and get control of your sugar levels. You've got a dr and a nurse so use them, they will tell you everything you need to know about diet, medications etc. You obviously realise that your size contributed to the diabetes, but if you need to hear it from someone else then here... lose weight

You just need to follow a very strict diet and exercise regime. Take your medication and visit the specialist. Don't forget to ask any questions. NEVER TAKE ANY DIABETIC FOODS. They are packed with worse stuff than sugar can ever do to you.
